Dr Maserati is using an email to someone from LiveStrong about some product issue as evidence that LIVESTRONG pays people to spread talking points on the internet, and thus implying people on this forum must be paid.

This is the nonsense that needs to be clamped down on. It's an unnecessary smear based on no evidence.

As for LeMond's company, every company has either a PR company working for them or has people in house paid to PR for the company. I would not claim they pay people to go onto this forum, and if I did I suspect I would not last very long.

I can understand that you are reluctant to give up talking points like these but I do not believe such toxic assertions sit very well with the other good forum rules that are enforced by the moderators. It's time to give it up.

To make a forum work it needs to be fair and everybody should have to give a little. There shouldn't be exceptions for popular users.

only toxic to the Lie$trong brigade.

It is obvious that the intern discovered the said lambstrong t-shirts while surfing forums on the net.

now have you got proof of LeMond using PR?

Those are some tenuous grounds if you're fishing for a ban.

To your point - while I certainly have read that PS have talking points that are often repeated - I have rarely seen "various posters" accused of being on the PS payroll and indeed a quick 'search' (that covers 3 months) show that."

remember this?

yeah, that never happens, eh doc?

I stated that Livestrong monitor the internet and have shown it.

All companies do advertising - it does not mean they retain a PR company (Armstrong is not a company BTW) and you aren't even able to show anything about LeMond. Does he advertise his products, yes - does he have a PR firm, no.

These are the Livestrong interns busy at work - amazing that all you nned to fight cancer is a few PCs:

You stated it was almost a daily occurrence - that (even if its in jest) is almost the first time in 3 months.

Also -I have asked 'Paraphernalia' directly are they paid for their contribution - so far they have refused to answer, maybe Benotti is not far wrong?

Another deadline has past in which something possibly was going to happen in the Armstrong case.

I heard something would be revealed after the Superbowl.

Well, it's after the Superbowl. Anyone got anything besides Ricco almost killing himself with a home made transfusion?

those results turned up with a quick search, as you admit. just seems funny that it happened in less than 2 hours, know what i mean. like i said in the other thread it may generally be in jest, but hey, if mods stick to rules......;)

With the facts that are known about the close ties between LAF and PS (and now BazaarVoice), are Paraphernalia's posts sounding more and more frantic and futile to anyone other than me? Sheesh, give it up, buddy...

Yep, the hypocrisy is mind boggling. He then tries to present damning evidence for his assertion which is a company dealing with a product issue on the internet, as if somebody said Livestrong have never heard of the internet. And then he produces a picture of people doing company business on computers, as if working on a computer is evidence that you're paid to go onto internet forums. You couldn't make it up.

The mods have said they will look to clamp down on this sort of trolling, but there is no sign as yet. Dr Maserati is obviously right to think he can get away with smearing other users because he has a high post count and is popular in the forum generally.
I said I would show that PS & LS monitor the web.
Where have you presented for your "assertions" about GL or the FDA?

Who did I smear - please name the poster.

I did ask you directly are you paid for your contribution here - I would be happy to accept your denial, but as yet you keep ignoring the issue, why?

Shhh... I pay him. A million bucks a post, and it's delivered to his secret island by sharks. Sharks with 'lazers' on their heads...

I'm not the person claiming LeMond pays people to post good things about him on cycling forums, but of course his companies will have PR people who have computers. Having computers and access to the internet is apparently smoking gun evidence.

See you complained in this post below that the mods would look unfavourably if you did......

Paraphernalia said:
<snipped to point>

Again if I posted a link to LeMond's lawyers and just asserted that LeMond likes to use this company to pay people to peddle his view, I doubt that would be seen as acceptable.
..... now that would be double standards - which is why I am encouraging you to find something to back up the claim.

Surely your whole point on the mod thread was for a consistent application of the rules?

So, please .... for the sake of forum freedom.

Some people may remember Trek's attempt to smear Greg Lemond. Wonder who made that silly Powerpoint that was given out to the press? Oh Yeah, Public Strategies.

You're trying to bait me to engage with your trolling where you are showing off that you are above the rules. I'm trying not to do that, but I did NOT state that LeMond pays people. I was making the opposite point that IF I said something like this etc. It's fairly obvious to everybody what I said.

This is obviously a dead end issue for me to pursue. I simply wanted a fair usage of the rules in regard to this often used smear, and bring it into line with the other forum rules where you can be banned for much less. It's clear that this is not going to happen, the mods have shown their cards, so there is nothing more I can say about it. Just be aware how it looks the next time you're attacking the UCI for selective rule bending.

That's just plainly purile. Don't let door hit you on the *** on the way out...

What rule did I break??

You were the one to bring it in the other thread - so I moved the discussion here as it is the appropriate thread - thats adhering to the rules.

I offered my position and have given links to show it - I have more if you like?

Its only a dead end issue for you if you have gone down a dead end.

I would think the competition to earn an internship at Livestrong is fairly intense. (One intern you list has a degree from Princeton).

No suprise that Public Strategies would hire some of the LiveStrong interns as full time employees. I would think Public strategies also recruits at the best Universities.

And to think that any Public Strategy Employees would be wasting time posting threads onto the CN Clinic on company time (or the General Politics thread for that matter) is frankly deluuuuusional IMHO lol.

I mean c'mon - here is an interview with the Boss at Public Strategies talking for 20mins plus on a local TV news show. Sharp guy for sure. But not ONE mention of the CN Clinic or the General Politics thread:

http://www.pstrategies.com/index.php/ceo-dan-bartlett-on-squawk-box.htm

Why on earth would Public Stategies be wasting time here? The only thing worse than reading CN or talking to CN is spending time in CN Clinic lol again.

RR, when did Public Strategies troll this silly PowerPoint onto the CN Clinic.

Can you supply the link?

Gosh, the CN Clinic must have been the first place they released said doc huh?
