I'd rather a descent finish in applecross after the Bealach Na Ba than Dun Fell or the Lecht. Also a MTT from Mennock to Lowther Hill.

Not that Scotland will ever be properly used in the ToB as it is logistically too difficult.

The route easing up in the final 50k's is a blessing for EBH, can't see how Poels can take time on him from here.

I'm kind of confused concerning Sky's tactics...It almost looks like they've forgotten that EBH has changed teams.

He's been isolated for 150 kilometers and yet Sky has done all the work, without even trying to attack on the tough climbs.

This terrible final weekend means the GC is basically over now. Just a sprint today and then two more coming up. Disappointing race compared to last year.

Etixx and Sky continue to trade wins!

Eddy Boss now 14s clear of Poels, unless tomorrow is windy it should be all over if he keeps upright.

Sky chased all that time after Trentin who was no threat on GC, and then EBH used their work as a launching pad. Odd tactics from Sky.

The biggest problem tactically is that Kennaugh wasn't closer in the GC which has meant EBH has only had to follow Poels, which he did during the first 60km of the stage when Poels was attacking.

Some photos from Cromford hill then a mad dash to Belper...! Eddy clinging on to Sky train and then he bossed it home in time to see finish. Well done EBH very impressive today.

Most impressive ride I've seen from Edvald since 2012. That was pretty crazy. All that work and yet he manages to ride the peloton of his wheel on the flat!

He clearly excels on these British roads. Surely, it's about time for a British Grand Tour...;)

Does Owain Doull have a contract for next year? Impressive stuff this far.

His focus is on the track next year and Rio, he will probably stay with Wiggnis as its a good fit. I'd expect him to be hot property for 2017 though.

According to a BBC Journo, Trentin said it was the hardest stage of his career. Averaged 365 watts for 5 hours. Unfortunately the most exciting two hours at the start of the stage wasn't televised. 76 riders missed the time limit, coming in 45 minutes down, but have been allowed to stay in the race.

Wow, that sounds like carnage. When i saw +45 min at PCS, I honestly thought it was a bug. The 10 last kilometres were great.

Blimey. I was at the first KOM climb out of Hathersage and the peloton was already fifteen minutes down, and we were wondering what was going on, especially as the front group didn't seem to be going all that fast. Anyhow...

Great to see Tao up at the front.
Ian Stannard is a big boy.
That slacker Wiggins was right at the back.

Makes EBH's performance today even more impressive, Sky must have threw everything into those first 2 hours to try and drop him.
