This is our new kitty Oatmeal or Oatie...she came with her name! This is her third full day...I'd say she is pretty darn happy.
She's a great cat, sweet and loves people. She has one eye, four teeth and is a bit overweight, but super happy.

So far we have and will keep her separated from our other cat, who doesn't seem a wreck at all like I thought she would. In fact, when Oatie spied our resident cat at the door outside she hissed, but we will wait for several days before we try to introduce them.

Thanks for the support!! :)

nice cat :) (it's a fattie though :p)

We have 2 cats, the mom and the son. They hate eachother :s
Mom cat always hisses when she sees him. And he is taunting her by just sitting there with his eyes closed :p it's pretty hard to keep them in the same room because they start fighting sometimes. I hope this does not happen to you ;) good luck with it

I don't think so, seems pretty normal just her pose and furriness.

I saw an animal shelter was smashed up by rioters near where I live. Utter scum.

That is so sad! Amazing the amount of collateral damage/trauma. Those that have rioted I can but only feel dismay for.

My sibling cats seem to live a J/Hyde existence... get on great most of the time...But favourite sunning spot/my lap/or Thor just wants to dominate Blid and the snarling and chase is on!

Luckily, our home cat loves to spend her days outside when it's nice...so we put the new girl in her room, open the door and let our other cat in for a bit, then juggle them all day.
At night, the new one is in her room and our cat roams our house. So far not bad.

I sure hope one day they can be together without a problem....
you folks with multiple cats must have seen it all!
Thanks for the support!! :)

Fantastic news mm! (with the Melb bush fires I contemplated further adoption but I "whimped out") Double kudos.

Ya, thanks for the comments!
We got a load of paperwork with her...likes, dislikes, etc. Evidently she had glaucoma or some similar affliction in the eye and sounded like her prev. owner had her on eye drops for a year or more.
The vets had no choice as they said she was blind in that eye already and it was painful....:(. That is sad to me, but she seems to be very happy and gets on fine.

She is pretty solid but not freaky overweight...we'll keep an eye on her and she does like to play with catnip mice! :)

That is terrible about the shelter. I just don't understand some people and their horrible actions.

New adoptee kitty update...:)
She is a great cat! very affectionate and smart, and she seems to be settling in to our routine and is quite happy.

We still separate the cats inside but will slowly start to work on the 'togetherness' thing inside. They see each other outside from a short distance, and we have held one inside while passing the other...still being very wary.
Our new girl ,Oatie , seems to be more aggressive when the two come close, and she has chased Sweetpea once in the house until I shouted her name and then she stopped, so will have to work up to tolerance!

Oatie having only one eye and very few teeth-- mostly none--gets along wonderfully although she still has her claws, so would not like to see a cat fight...

We have been taking her out in our yard several times a day as she loves to be out....we pretty much stick by her so she can sniff the perimeter, scratch on all the trees ...she is good at staying pretty well in our yard. Don't trust her to be out there unsupervised...

So all in all good---our whole family loves her and our other cat doesn't seem too freaked..

It does take quite a bit of my time right now, though...
I need to get my tail in gear and find some part-time work in the travel industry again...:p
cheers
mew

I failed big time, third time in row now, to take a picture of Mia reading the cat-thread and the CN-forum.
She even has her paw on the pad. I figured out that I can do anything, but not grab and position the handy carefully to take a picture.

I think I could even drill a whole with an impact-driller and she would still lie there in front of the laptop.

and good kitteh pic by om@ :)

I actually saw the Cat vs Dog Standoff by clicking on the link in mewmewmew13's reply, and had not paid any attention to who the original poster was. As I was watching I thought to myself 'that looks like something krebs303 would post'. Not only right on that, it was a great video. Reminded my of one of our former (sob) cats who did that to my mom's Sheppard. Some cats got balls, and on the whole tend to be much craftier than dogs, who just kind of charge right in without thinking what they're about to tangle with. Except one farm dog I had as a boy, who must have had some old scores to settle with cats. He'd charge right in, get clawed up, but eventually grab the cat and toss it around like a rag doll untill it couldn't move anymore.

Our kitty is now a 3 YO, and I still have to put the earbuds away or out of reach. (Put away is better... what I think may be out of reach may not actually be)

mewmewmew13, your new big girl looks a lot like our old boy except the color of ours is dark battleship gray.

you are right...our world is revolving around the needs of our cats. they train us well...

btw, your avatar...is that you??

get ready for a race...tis now the cat thread team vs the doggers...and the rest

Cats have to be adored. We know this since the Egyptians or prophet Mohammed.
We have no choice. :D

No, my avatar, that's the King of England when he was still young.

What race ? The doggers....well, dogs stink and their owners too.
It's as simple as that. What do they want from us ?

btw, I made it. :p

Sweet, that new online dating website for cats!
Now that's a long distance relationship between mewmewmew13's girl in Colorado and Cobblestoned's cat in Germany.
(He is a boy, right, Cobblestoned? If not, let her down gently.)

No, it's a woman.

The cat mafia was connected even before internet and telephone was there.
Thats what I was told.
They use pigeons, and eat them afterwards to keep the Omerta strong.

I don't get your last sentence.
You might explain.

A classic moment from the UK comedy series Brasseye (1994):

VOICEOVER: In ancient Egypt felines were worshipped because the Egyptians thought they were funny.

VOICEOVER: These vast cat heads were built underground, and seen by no one.

That is too funny Cobbledy! :D just saw this!! That must be Mia...!
Online kitty socializing..

I think last sentence means my kitty would be greatly disappointed that your kitty wasn't a boy..."let her down gently' means in English to
'break the news in a kind manner so they are not devastated...' :)

Jawol... I could not have said it better. Though I could have said it better originally.
