Wow to those cats! I have never heard of them and that is an amazing photo!

To on3m@n--
no she does not seem to pay much attention to the laptop so far :)

I'm wondering if the aggressor (new cat) might ever not feel the need to charge at our sweet little resident cat....most of the time they seem to hiss or ignore, especially because I separate them mostly or hold one while talking to the other.

It has only been 3 weeks I know...I sure hope it won't always be one lunging at the other...:(

Sweet. I should do that. My little girl squeaks and needs work on her meower.

So is Kitty's mouse collection up to triple digits yet?

No, no mice since we got back from vacation. Plus the weather has been so crap since then too that Kitty isn't spending more time outside than necessary.

Jawol... I could not have said it better. Though I could have said it better originally.

Ah, now it is clear. ;)

Sometimes it's confusing with some unknown vocabulary or some phrases like "let her down gently".
Also confusing for my readers the other way around, because there are so many possible words delivered by translation sites. lol

I was wondering why I should "aussetzen".....

suspend
expose
stay
defer
abandon
miss
interrupt
sit out
release
fail
adjourn
maroon
put up
offer
find fault
cut out
bequeath
break off
lower
plant out
make a halt
give out

:D

....my cat somewhere, just because she is a girl.

btw, have you got a word for male cats ? We say "Kater" here.
I get "hangover" and "tomcat".
I think it would be tomcat ? But hangover is also cool because it matches 100%. That must be the reason for German language using "Kater" for male-cat AND for a hangover. There ist also Muskelkater (muscle-hangover, muscle-tomcat).

This is confusing, am I confusing you ?

...and here is my kitty Oatie looking at Cobbldy's kitty looking at my kitty ...via internet...:D

hey mewmew, we need a picture with accuracy and dedication.
I had dozens of shots like yours. :D

Kitty went to the back door and tapped it with her paw. I got up and opened it for her. She gave me the "You are STUPID" look and ran to the front door to go out there.

I'm sure it made sense to her......

Nein. Ich verstehen Sie.

So that explains where the English term Kater-wallering (or just katerwallerin) comes from, which means a cat (male in this case) howling away at night on the fence (for example between you and your neighbors home).

Tomcat in English would be a male cat. Sometimes the term is used in reference to a girl who behaves like a boy (for example, who is rough and tumble and likes to engage in athletics). Never heard of a hangover referring to cats... that's reserved exclusively for feeling the effects of having imbibed too much alcohol the night before. :D ... understandably so.

Hi C,
yes, I find this language thing interesting. "Kater" does make sense with 'kater-wauling' as in 'carrying on making loud wailing sounds' like on3m@n@rmy says.
For "aussetzen" I would choose 'put up' :D

The 'hangover' thing makes no sense at all to me in relating to cats except when guys go out drinking in a group here some may say they have been out "tom-catting around". "muscle-hangover" is funny...:::???? I think I'll jump over to google translator and see what comes up!
love it...

As I was ready to leave for a ride this morning, I was just locking our door from outside and Oatie came up to the glass door looking out at me with her catnip mouse in her mouth---she looked like she was saying 'hey stay and play with me!'. It was hard to leave...:)

...but we had a great day outside later.
a beautiful almost fall day...sunny and nice temp and she got to chase grasshoppers all over.

Well, you said it yourself below...

Krebs is his own one man show! :)

See, it works like this. Krebs goes out and rounds up stray cats & dogs (there's a lot of them down where he lives), makes them pose for camera and video shoots, photoshops them, and then advertises them for animal adoption. And it's all volunteer work. Sometimes he does volunteer work for other things like vegetables, fruits, and so on.

good one Krebs. Reminds me of when our dogs were poopies and the cat was a 2 year old. Cat quickly, but kindly, taught the pups who ruled the roost. They been buds ever since, sleeping together and so on. The cat you posted here could easily be ripping those pups a new one, but is being patient and kind while trying to escape for a break. This cat knows he or she's in no danger and therefore does not have to rip them one.

:D if I were throwing a shindig I would hire Krebs for sure!
