It would take a hefty payout to get Cavendish off Specialised and Nike's books now he's World Champion. Nike's position is interesting because now would be the time to make the big decision to back a new guy or get out and distance themselves from the sport.

I think Froome will be lucky to get a top 10 in the Tour, I don't think his Vuelta results means a lot when talking about the Tour, it's hardly impressive to be at Cobo or Mollema's level.

Shhhh!!!! The Dutch Mafia are everywhere!

Cav can wear his Nike shoes at Sky why not.Just because Addidas sponsor the team kit shouldn't be an issue. He won the worlds wearing Addidas.

I still rate Gesink and Kruijswijk higher, perhaps even Poels in the long run.

Mollema just lucked out that he was at his best in a sub-par Vuelta, causing him to have the most impressive Dutch result in a GC in a GT in a long time. I would be surprised if he could do something similar in the Giro or Tour.

Shoes (unavailable to public) and casualwear for the whole of HTC, I think.

and a tshirt. :D
http://www.markcavendish.co.uk/shop/ which are out of stock.

interestingly, cavendish only lists Nike and Oakley as his sponsors on his website. No sign of Specialised

And HTC's shirts do not carry Nike branding despite being "partners", they are Moa shirts (Nalini) - So rode with moa on his shirt this year although granted Nalini and Nike are hardly big rivals.

I just get the feeling he doesnt like cavendish personally so he may have some problem with him being there, I am probably wrong though.. It is good for boonen though and both can fit in the one team easily enough.

I think Cavendish is very much a guy that is well liked by his team and despised by everyone else. He'll seek conflict with others but stick up for his team mates, Greipel being an exception. Egos would probably be the big issue but I'm not convinced that Boonen wants the attention and the magnet of controversy that Cavendish is would take the spotlight off him.

Cavendish and Pozzato went from being arch-enemies to best buds fairly quickly and I'd favour a repeat of that unless Boonen wants to remain top dog and misses the attention.

If you ever see Griepel and Cav go head to head whoever wins there is always sportsmanship and respect for each other.

Now there is but HTC wasn't big enough for both of them.

20th i think squads have to be in by.

So the Lombardia is the 15th, so after that then or you think before?

I am sure whatever team he goes to they will be wanting to parade such a trophy signing like Cav.

So all this talk of "Oooo mind made up" was what, rubbish?

There is a 2 page article about Cav in todays Times Newspaper here in the UK. Now given the Links between the The Times and Sky it made me think that the Sky deal was probably now done. However reading comments here and the possible things that could block a move to Sky I'm thinking its less and less likely.

well htc's race schedule for the rest of the season
3 Oct Munsterland Giro men Germany
5-9 Oct Tour of Beijing men China
6 Oct Paris Bourges men France
9 Oct Paris Tours men France
13 Oct Piemonte men Italy
15 Oct Lombardy men Italy

Cav is riding Paris Bourges, and Paris Tours. But that is it for him then. So im guessing somewhere between October 10th and October 20th.

What was interesting there was the way he said he thought Renshaw had betrayed him by moving to Rabobank

Cav has received a larger offer from omega pharma and now his agent is renegotiating with sky for a better deal. Sky won't budge with there offer and now excuses like bikes and clothing are being used. Griepel uses a specialized frame when his team use canyon bikes, all the bike needs to show is sponsor advertising which can be done with stickers. For example in cricket many players use different makes to what the stickers show. Cav is most likely to join omega pharma now.

I'm glad if this is the case, I like to see British riders spread out over a few different teams not just resident at Sky.

Cav insists on Specialized, Martin insists on Specialized... sounds like Specialized are throwing a fair bit of cash at these boys to be on their bikes.
