Makes perfect sense to me. It happens all the time. Why do you and Vino's Mum hate Froome? Maybe it's because you both hate winning.

Don't worry if froome falls on the cobbles I'm sure the entire Lotto team won't hesitate to ride over the top of him.

All good well to crap on everyone when you're winning but you can see if there's problems at the Tour he and partner will blame everyone. Won't be pretty.

I laugh at it. I knew the Dawg was a blatant doper but not the complete idoit he portrays in this book.

Not including Wiggins in the Tour team is indicative of how stupid Sky have become. Drugs or no drugs his the 2012 winner and scored a top 10 at PR.

I also thought it was disingenuous to portray the 2012 as depressing. Depressing for Froome but he wasn't the leader. He just talking smack.

The most plausible explanation of The Transformation I've seen is the following. No idea if it's true:

A string of coincidental badzhilla bouts spanning many years prevented him from realising his full potential in races, all while he was crushing it up the Madone in training. There was no transformation, it's just that the badzhilla finally went away (it may however reemerge if and when that is convenient)

What a total count!

Sandbagging and attacking the yellow jersey and being surprised that Yatesy had a word - I'm surprised he didn't break his scrawny little neck

When this book is 99p in the sales I will buy one for the comedy

While I agree, this is where I put my tin foil hat on and suggest he's got assistance from ASO and the UCI that leads Brailsford to make such strange decisions.

Busy today so haven't got around to reading any further into the book but just wondering, any reference to Leinders or Sky's hiring of him?

There's a really creepy scene during the Vuelta when he comes to administer cream to Froome. I think that's the only bit.

But hog, what does he say about his transformation in August 2011? Any explanation at all for the huge improvement?

It's not explained. The book takes the position that Froome was always awesome. And what happened before the 2011 Vuelta was due to Badzhilla and lack of opportunity.

Even in 2012 he had done nothing prior to the Tour to warrant leadership or to be thought of a contender. But the book talks of Wiggins almost "stealing" the leadership and Brailsford refusing to honour his agreement with Froome.

Love him or hate him Wiggjns had won everything he entered that season. He was leader, it was fairly obvious that he was the leader.

There's really no dialogue to why he turned it around so dramatically. He was only in that Vuelta due to a withdrawal. He's not afraid to write this or that Bralsford thought he as only worth 70k or even be dropped off the roster. But there's no explanation why or how he turned it around in that race.

There's talk of ridding the body of Badzhilla and julich's influence but that's about it.

*Thanks, I would check quickly myself but no index in the book.

I thought he would/should address it more. I find it staggering he hasn't taken on this issue in more detail.

It's the biggest cloud over the whole team.

Disappointing.

If it really was 6.95 watts/kg, that is far above what Ross Tucker, e.g., believes is possible. It would indicate an outlier V02max coupled with an outlier efficiency and an outlier lactate threshold. But if he did 6.95, then Porte was about 6.90.

That suddenly appears sometime 2011 defying most everything understood (VO2max/efficiency/lactate threshold) about the human body.

None. 3 mentions but in a matter of fact way to obtain cream for a skin infection.

In one instance on Lienders name there is an asterisks* which Froome states in the appendix "I knew nothing of the Rabobank allegations".

That's it. But don't worry Froome is quite happy to tell us about Contador's doping, Basso's doping and everyone' else's doping.

Hey gooner without insulting you, but I realize that you possibly like Sky more than others here(I apologize if that isn't the case). From what you've read of the book how do you feel it portrays Froome, massive PR blunder or not?

Wiggins does use humour as a defence mechanism, I think that's fairly obvious.

Agreed. But do you like the way Froome is putting in the print the whole team feels that way?

Just to isolate him further. Classy.

I'm not sure that is the issue you make out. Cavendish, who is quite close to Wiggins relatively speaking, has made exactly the same points before - shy underneath the bluster, humour as a defence, moody.

Froome takes his time to go to the tee with the big club on Wiggins plenty of times in the book. I'm just not sure this is really one of them.

Really? What could he possibly say to explain it. There is only one answer and it's blatantly obvious.

It would appear that Walsh has written Froome with the arrogance of Armstrong and the personality and IQ of a wet paper bag. Thanks for sharing and the comments are good fun, as one or two have said I won't be watching the Tour....but hope Alberto has been using all the time in coffee shop thinking of ways to spank Froome 8 ways from Sunday.

I think BW would like to ride the TdF just for the chance to put a wheel under Froome.
