So, apparently his racing weight is 66kg and he averaged 459 watts up the Madone. That's 6.95 W/Kg for 30 min, seems legit.

If the climb was 13.3 km, the longest it could be, his VAM would indicate 6.75 watts/kg (assuming no wind). Then 459 watts would indicate 68 kg. But he implies he started where LA did, and LA implied he started 12 km from the top. That would make it 6.16 watts/kg and 74.5 kg.
So either he a) beat LA’s time while riding more than a km further, and that into a significant headwind; or b) he rode the same 12 km as LA, but there was a very strong headwind on the climb.
If it really was 6.95 watts/kg, that is far above what Ross Tucker, e.g., believes is possible. It would indicate an outlier V02max coupled with an outlier efficiency and an outlier lactate threshold. But if he did 6.95, then Porte was about 6.90.
Again, we have discussed Schisto extensively here, and what Froome says about it does not jibe with what research articles and posters here who have actually treated it say.
But hog, what does he say about his transformation in August 2011? Any explanation at all for the huge improvement?
