With the likely announcement of Contador going to Team Sungard or whatever the heck Riis team will be, will Riis and Contador be a good match for each other?
Contador can be sometimes be a brash person and Riis has a very stoney cold personality.

only a cordell evans fan could possibly see any problem with this relationship :D.

Eurosport TV has picked up the first statements of the environment Contador after the signing of the Madrid confirmed by Saxo Bank. The brother and agent of the broker Pinto said they are very happy but has denied that Alberto will run the big three in one season.

Just hours after Bjarne Riis confirm the arrival of the latest winner of the Tour de France to his squad for next season, attended Contador Francisco Eduardo Huts and Fernando Gomez, Eurosport commentators to explain that his brother was very happy to the new venture to be undertaken from next January 1, 2011.

Very surprised, the agent of the current leader of the UCI ranking soon disprove the words of Saxo Bank's sports director, who said Alberto Contador had said he wanted to win all three Grand Tours in one season: "I imagine that there will been a translation error. Conquer Giro, Tour and Vuelta in the same year is impossible. We have very clear that the priority is the Tour and then, seeing as it will work is planned in each of the two campaigns that we have signed. "

. In his words, Fran Contador said his brother has asked Riis to try to retain in the ranks of Saxo Bank to several of the corridors that form the core of Danish education, "Let's see what happens with Cancellara and many others. do not know if they will stay or if they will go along with the Schleck brothers. On the other hand, we would like that Alberto also came a few men of his confidence as Dani Navarro and Jesus Hernandez. "

I see no reason to believe these 2 can't work well together. 3 GTs in a single year is something else. Even with a strong and totally dedicated team, it would require full commitment and a lot of good luck.

Only somebody like you could post an idiotic comment like that as people actually agreed with me that they have different personalities.

I think Footon is pretty awful too, yes. I sorta have a soft spot for Felline and Modolo though, so they're not as bad as BMC in my eyes, which is completely illogical because BMC's line-up is better than Footon's. It doesn't help that all of BMC's stars are people I never had much time for (Ballan, Kroon, Evans... I like Big George but he's past his best). I had high hopes for Kristoff but he's been fairly disappointing this year imho. And as long as Skil have Kamikaze Kenny they'll always have a place in my heart. Also, neither Footon nor Skil get any of the over the top, unfounded hype that BMC do.

That's because BMC have Cadel Evans who is a WORLD CHAMPION and arguably australia's best ever, Geroge Hincapie who is a very popular rider, Alessandro ballan who is a former world champion. That's why they get hype! The reason you made that comment was because you have a vendetta against those riders.

as well as one time Phonak (and now BMC Racing) team owner Andy Rihs

Landis alleges that Andy Rihs was aware of his doping and helped fund it

Yes sure. Ignore the honest response and go back to the conspiracy theories. Shouldn't have expected anything else.

Well, this has diverged from the topic, but:

Ultimately, BMC are composed of good honest riders that lack that special talent that marks a Boonen, a Cancellara or a Contador. They don't deserve the hype of those riders until they get the results of those riders. Among the entire team we have no grand tours, one monument and two WC wins, unless I'm mistaken. Boonen beat that by himself four years ago.

As to Contador-Riis: If Contador can cope with Bruyneel and Armstrong, he can deal with the Dane. If Riis can cope with Sastre and Bartoli, he can deal with Contador. They may not like each other, but they'll work together.

It does, however, put Riis' comments after Wheelgate in a slightly different frame of mind.

It's said he'll be making 5.5m euro next year. For that kind of money the relationship should be quite professional ;)

tbh, i doubt this amount though i did read it in the news too.

my doubt is rooted in several interviews by people close to the action. they mentioned highest salaries around 2.5-3 mil just a year or 2 back.

doubling that amount so quickly would have to ripple down the chain as a stiff multiplier for most second tier riders and eventually into the team budgets.

however we haven't observed that yet.

Contador just on Spanish TV station Telecinco

"If I get suspended, I will quit cycling and retire"

Where does that leave Riis with his contract ?

Has he nothing to say in this anymore ?

Or is this running out of Riis his hands and growing over his +60% head ?

I think if team SBS is still around next season it will be a bit like Caisse d'Epargne in the Vuelta. They had a heap of strong cyclists but no one to challenge for the really pointy end of the GC ie. missing Valverde

let's say this new collaboration between them has just started so wrong that I doubt is going to last at all-- Riis knows what happened to AC, & he's keeping a good record of riders not popping positive-so now that he's recruited the Spanish armada, he's going to have a liability problem every time AC & Co show up to the start line
