Most BPC bans aren't mentioned. In fact most sock puppet bans (and spam bans) aren't mentioned there.

I suppose the spam bans scenario makes sense, as it just adds to the spam.

But, with notiorious characters that constantly mess up threads... maybe a different approach?

Also, memory fails, but shouldn't all (!) the latest iteration's posts be removed?

Dave.

Very funny at the time…so blatant…:D
but what a creep

Exactly. And it will continue, in particular as his post are left up.
If they were removed (as well as the replies). Then they will be less likely to return, if the idea is to nuke him, nuke it all.

Does he get paid for this or does he have some mental illness?

funny how he gets everyone so riled up though. You all know he is a troll and will get nuked, but you still keep replying to him and acknowledging his existance.

They don't get me rilled up.
And they don't always get nuked and is sometimes quite subtle.

But inevitably they exaggerates or distorts things, I have no problem correcting them.

Did his posts get nuked? They are still there. It can take hours, even days. Usually I stop as soon I realize as most can see through his nonsense.

Have to wonder why he is being so active lately? Perhaps I have not been paying attention but I have seen nothing from him for over a year then suddenly a fury of activity.....like herpes

I dont know why new users can't be put on some sort of pending moderation, so that any post they put has to go through a moderator before being seen by the forum, then when the mods are happy they can take them off pending moderation

Interesting.
I am not sure the current software can do that.

But that would require more mods or active mods - which if there were, things would not get out of hand and not actioned for hours.

I thought the software had a feature where you could nuke someone and their account + posts would disappear. The thing they would use for spam bots.

This would seem a reasonable definition.

What would be your answer?

Did not follow what the guy yesterday was posting.

The Wiki definition of troll covers everything though, so that would catch everyone out.

Its easy to say not to feed them, but the better trolls are subtle, and if they are only interested in disruption, they will keep amping it up until they hook someone.

Also, cant expect bison to be around all the time to push the red button, since he is basically modding the entire forum by himself. maybe it would be a good idea to get some new mods?

Come on, Enache and Graghams oh so obvious new account are just taking trolling to another level over there. They are personally attacking posters like Fermi who are neutral, vb attacks the clinic for taking vayer as gospel when no one even praised vayer , just clogging up the thread with as many baits as they can manage in the hope people respond to some.
