Come on, Enache and Graghams oh so obvious new account are just taking trolling to another level over there. They are personally attacking posters like Fermi who are neutral, vb attacks the clinic for taking vayer as gospel when no one even praised vayer , just clogging up the thread with as many baits as they can manage in the hope people respond to some.

personal attacks, clogging, useless posts ? look in the mirror

BPC Thread?

Serious question.

Is there some reason we just can't setup a BPC thread?

Instead of the constant returns under different names, let him bring back the original (there's nothing quite like a classic, after all) but quarantine all the discussion to one thread. I've no idea if he would agree to such terms (and I don't mean to be presumptuous to suggest that he might), but I can assure you that there would be no shortage of activity within that thread.

If page views fuel the machine, then why not?
If anyone has a problem with the discussion they could very easily avoid the thread. If they fail to do so, then there complaints could (and should) be ignored.

Kinda of like legalizing pot, I suppose. What was once banned is now allowed, with certain limitations.

As long as rules are not broken within that thread (obscenities, personal info, etc) I don't really see a problem. Unless there is some proof that repeated bannings are somehow going to be effective—which they are not.

The good thing is, we shouldn't have to wait long to get his input on the matter (by this evening maybe?).

Some might chose to argue that doing such a thing would open the door to having to necessitate multiple "special threads" to multiple users for various reasons. To nip that debate in the bud, I would humbly suggest that no other member has earned that honor compared with BPC's sheer tenacity. Effort should count for something, no?

Sorry to introduce a sane option.

Are you trolling me?

I understand your point, but wouldn't it at the same time give an incentive to other banned accounts to go full ***?
Well they would have to banned from the BPC thread, of course. :D

One of the many proposals I made back in 2011 was to have The Cage Match thread. It didn't gain much traction. My error in all that, or course, was too much conversation, too little action. I should've just opened the thread myself. But I think we're getting somewhere with this.

Think of it this way:

If Putin can release Khodorkovsky prior to the Olympics, why not unleash BPC prior the (real) start of the 2014 season?

After all, if we can't look to a former KGB spy for guidance, then where?

Granville has sortof read my thoughts on this, but a separate thread for BPC could be a viable option.

Although I did try to argue a case for their unbanning, they then went on the personal side.
Again I have no problem countering BPcs actually points. It's rather easy.
And a separate thread would not muck up other threads.

As for other users, for the most part I believe they did not warrant a perma ban.
Really, the BPC issue is the extreme scenario. Not fair to judge all solely on them.
(But you may remember some other 'disruptive' posters that I don't remember )

Considering how he got hisself banned, I think it's more likely that lance rides this year's tdf than that the oldborn account ever makes another post here.

If given the choice, I'd rather see Lance in the TdF.
