Not sure why still having irons in the fire would make it unlikely that they've signed one of their stagiares on a full contract.
Of course, they could also be going the "Foldager route", and in about half a year we learn they've signed him from 2025.

I can't believe he isn't signing with one of the other big Spanish teams like Reynolds or Banesto. They could use a guy like him.

Some riders are good teammates on and off the bike, which means their own results don't necessarily matter much. Not complaining to the media is probably also a key factor for anyone who wants to stay with the team.
