Teams & Riders The Great Big Cycling Transfers, Extensions, and Rumours Thread

Remo would make sense for Red Bull. They have said they won't buy a top rider out of contract, but you can tell a lot. It just wouldn't make sense for Soudal. Their best rider. They now have a strong team for GC. And then they should let him go? Who should they buy for the money? What would be the advantage for WvA to switch. Soudal also wants to be a GC team. Or should he go to GC? Doubtful. Doesn't make much sense to me.
The sources mentioned don't give any concrete information either. I haven't found any other sources. So for me it's just an article for attention without any real news content.

QS was far better than Red Bull during this Tour, so Remco leaving would be odd. Red Bull did buy a lot of superdoms but let's not forget QS has been shopping aswell, VPP-transfer sounded like it was done and dusted and what people tend to forget is that they lost Pedersen pretty early on in the Tour.
WVA to QS would be the dream but can't see it happening just yet.
No way Lefevre allows this, just no way. Would be so devastating for QS to let Remco go at this point now. Unless Bill Gates or Elon Musk are trying to buy him out, you keep!

Except Visma have so far wasted Kooij's career. In four years he has ridden half of one grand tour. he needs to do a groenewegen.
Is he bothered by that? Had the opportunity do that last year but instead chose to renew, Visma is always going to be without a pure sprinter in TdF, so far as Vingegaard or any other guy is one of the main contenders.

Still, had the Giro opportunity his year which ended abruptly due to unforeseen circumstances to him or his team.

Van Aert might yet grow on me, first he shocks the world with a stylish retro double-disk choice and now he could join a non-Richard Plugge team.
I've been around a long time and can't recall anyone using a double disc on the road since perhaps a few in the 1980's. Maybe even before tribars. It's not allowed in time trials in the UK and always assumed that was universal.
Sounds scary, definitely not for me.

someone used a Campagnolo front disc wheel that had 4 holes in it. early nineties I think, some Campagnolo sponsored team. Banesto, Z, Gewiss. I can't remember well

Yes Fignon in the 89 tt I think, maybe that's why they fell out of fashion. I had assumed they were banned for safety concerns as well, especially surprising that he used them on such a foul day. I imagine they had were so rare that it was an out of sight out of mind situation for the UCI, they are probably scurrying around now as we speak, preparing the podium to issue a mountaintop decree.
