Interesting...

Most spanish media and even some colombian journalists stated in the last week or so that Lopez to Movistar is already a done deal. Unzué also stated that the two sides have "been talking" so I'd reckon they at least made him an offer.

UAE would certainly make sense too. I guess we shall wait and see.

Talking doesn't necessarily mean there was an actual offer.

Also Lopez and Movistar have had their issues over the years including the 2019 Vuelta where Lopez not only apologized to the team but personally apologized to Valverde.
Is it possible he'd sign there, yes. Does it make sense he'd go there, no.

Relationship-wise maybe does not make much sense.

Apart from that, i would say it is a very good fit. Movistar don't have many reliable GT leaders. In fact, they only have Mas, who is more or less on the same level as Lopez. Send Lopez to Giro, Mas to TDF and then send both to Vuelta.

Soler is not a contender for GC in 3 week races and Valverde is retiring in 2021 (anyways, his time as GT contender has also finished)

Soler is more of a stage hunter and it seems he's actually figuring that out.

Valverde may not be racing after 2021, but he's still going to be a big part of the team. His full contract runs through 2024.

The very likely reason they are talking to Lopez is their sponsor wants them to have 3 Colombians on the team and they currently have 2 under contract.

I dunno, the fact that he apologised certainly makes it make more sense than if he'd refused to apologise.

So Aquadro trying to get Vlasov out of the contract at Astana so he can go to Ineos, I mean why really would you go ? Except the fat paycheck :)

funny though if Astana picks up Geoghan Hart to troll Ineos back :)
But they probably won’t as they have no cash

How many bridges is that goofball going to burn? Astana is one of like 4 WT teams that still signs his riders, he should calm down.

As long as he has so many great riders and upcoming talents I don't see it ending. I mean he is probably getting a *** ton of money from Ineos for his work bringing those riders in and his riders are having big pay days thanks to him.
It's getting really annoying though. The worth of contracts is deteriorating to a football level. And it is only ever Ineos profiting. Having a 50mio budget has its perks.

In other news: Jempy Drucker to Cofidis.

Stick a Salary cap to ensure a more even system, i mean if 2-3 teams all have 4-5 GCT contender each it will burn the sport more then previous "issues"

And possibly connected; Pauline Ferrand-Prevot is rumoured to be moving from Canyon-Sram to Absolute-Absalon.

It's probably also connected to her being half an Absalon.
She has declared that she won't focus much on the road anymore, so it makes sense to be on a team that can back her in MTB and XC.

Niam Fisher-Black to Worx - A very talented rider and Mitchelton will be unhappy they missed out on her services.

Drucker to Cofidis. Didn't see that coming. Why would Bora let that guy go? Such a classy bloke

Solid rider, but they have a lot of riders that are good for one-day races. Monuments and semi-classics.

He is a bit of "luxury" rider to have on your roster, when you already have enough talent on it.

He will have more opportunities at Cofidis.
