Bora because they don’t know what to do with that Red Bull money as long as they can’t get a TDF winner?Lefevre is confirming Alaphilippe will leave QuickStep after this season.

Well, a lot of article are suggesting that, and that Cancellara hopes to make it a done deal. I would like to see him in a different team, partly because I don’t think it’s a great fit to be in the same team as Hirschi - as I believe they are too similar as riders and should target the same races, and because I don’t want Tudor to take Uno-X spot in the TourTudor, along with Hirschi.
Hirschi to Tudor confirmed by the team. I like this transfer a lot. Its good for cycling! Now you have a serious contender for medium heavy one day races and for medium heavy one week stage races who is not riding for one of the big teams. That will spice things up and tudor rode very offensive this year, great to see
I understand what you mean, but imagine he is focussing on some highlights and do have a serious preparation for this races. Then i think he can play a crucial role in this races. And what if the 10 % are Fleche Wallone, Liege, the fall classics and so? And the 90 % are the czech tour, Tour de Hongrie races? That means less wins but much more prestigious wins/podiums/top 10s.I think this is the wrong move for him.. 90% of his wins in UAE came from having multiple team members in the final.
Strong rider from August to October, not so good from January to June.

My hope is that Alaphilippes sponsorship with Richard Mille makes it hard to sort out a deal with Tudor and then let’s see if Total can come up with a huge contract offer.

To be fair I don’t know exactly how big deal this partnership is. I think he’s been racing with different fancy (and expensive) Richard Mille watches since 2020, so also at San Sebastián this weekend, but he’s not listed on their website as a brand ambassador like for example biathlete Johannes Bø is. However Richard Mille has had a long term partnership with Cav as well and he’s not on that list either.didn't know he had a personal deal with Richard Mille.

Wonderkid, lol. People really be throwing out these sorts of stupid titles for fun, ridiculous.
We were discussing this rumor of Ineos recently on a group ride and someone (who is in the know) said he has the same agent as Josh Tarling.More like an example that junior results don't say everything. At least right now. Still think he has plenty of talent to be at least WT pro worthy but "wonderkid" is absolutely insane.

There are tons of INEOS riders with 258 Protege, including the Hayter brothers and AJ August. That is likely where the connection comes from, yes.We were discussing this rumor of Ineos recently on a group ride and someone (who is in the know) said he has the same agent as Josh Tarling.
The only way signing Shmidt (weird way of spelling that name, by the way) makes sense is if they want to use him as bait for Barry next year. There are tons of INEOS riders with 258 Protege, including the Hayter brothers and AJ August. That is likely where the connection comes from, yes.
Also with 258: Ashlin Barry.

That would be my explanation as well, as it makes little to no sense for a major team to go after Artem Shmidt seeing how little progression he has shown since his junior days. We know for a fact INEOS aren't really deterred with agents having a foot in the door, given their ties to Acquadro. The only way signing Shmidt (weird way of spelling that name, by the way) makes sense is if they want to use him as bait for Barry next year.
They really need a development team if they are going to persist in signings like August, Storm, Leonard: already too late for Leo Hayter and HeidukView: https://x.com/dnlbenson/status/1823021958553825772

So the Chinese takeover is far more a takeover than a buy-in. I can't imagine the Khazakhs letting Lutsenko go if they were retaining an interest.![]()
