What would be a good fit for the rider? You need a team that is able to change him mentally, but the ride himself also needs to want to change.

Sure, but Ineos don't have any real sprinting success in their history, so they wouldn't be able to provide him with that much support (unless hey say to Ganna to babysit Ewan around the globe, which I doubt would happen).

True, I don't think Ineos is a good match either. Maybe SOQ, they got a decent leadout, and wouldn't be the first time they pull a sprinter out of a rut, but they don't need him at the moment. Maybe it's better for him to ride PCT.

Clément Horny who just recently won the NC in the Elite 2 category rumoured to the Intermarché-Wanty structure.

Horny is Walloonian and you don't find a lot of those in cyclocross. The main sponsor for the Wanty CX structure is also Walloonian so it looks like a good marriage.
They have need for some extra faces. Thijs Aerts is retiring after an iffy career, they were the favourites to sign Toon Aerts but then he had his clinic issues and so that only leaves Gerben Kuypers in the pro ranks.

And if your one heavy-hitter injures himself right in the beginning of the season than that leaves you with nothing.

SIgning makes sense, although I don't see him at the same level as someone like Kuypers.

Doubt it.

DSM will finitely ditch him after this year (and take in Kooij), don't see any team paying a lot for him anymore. Wouldn't surprise me if he retires.
I'm quoting you here since it's about a transfer. Why do you think Kooij would go to DSM and not stay at Visma? Because he might not get enough chances, and the proper leadout needed to win at the highest level?

According to Benson Visma thinks he's leaving. And I mean, he should.

DSM was already really close to Kooij in 2023. They will have a lot of freed up money (Bardet and Jakobsen) and a Dutch leader is super important for them. He will 100% their number 1 target (2nd Kung again probably). And while I don't really like DSM (doing better lately tho) I think it would be a great fit.

Astana have already signed his preferred leadout guy and will also be in the mix for him.

Heidemann missed out on a pro deal again, but he found a CT team at least

His past three teams all folded after signing him, so let's hope this is not a bad sign for Sauerland ;).
I believe they have the aspiration to go PCT in the future. Let's see if it happens.
And good on REMBE, they probably needed the extra rider after 3 of them getting taken out by an idiot driver.
