According to l'Equipe Cofidis is in advanced talks with Cosnefroy, who also has serious interest from PicNic.

Cofidis would finally have his big French leader and a points scorer who would probably secure that top 3 every year for the wildcards.
Cosnefroy is 29 and his career never really materialized!

If he wants to collect one last big paycheck he should sign for Cofidis. If Cosnefroy wants to revive his career a bit and still has ambition for success he better joins PostNL!

Yeah well ASO is not letting Tietema and Groenewegen in over Q36.5 with Pidcock and and a bag of money.

Tietema needs some years to grow or another team to fold.

yep, I forgot that Total has got its place secured for 2026 (sponsor will stay). surely Tietema would be in, if Total folded, but it won't happen,

Yeah that's why I said that 2027 is more realistic as I would be really surprised if ASO drops Total next year..

What do Soudal even want Dainese for? Merlier and Magnier are on long-term contracts and I'm not sure he's cut out to be a leadout guy. Also, their sprint core is basically the only part of the team that doesn't really need reinforcements.

Last year was the best Cosnefroy has ever been and this year he missed all his big targets due to injury. Not sure how his career needs reviving. Let alone the idea that a new contract at 29 is 'one last big paycheck'.

Setting that aside, he simply doesn't have the engine for the cobbles and things like Liège are a bit too climby for him. In the big races that suit his narrow skillset, he is as good as any non-alien. IMO you are selling him short to a spectacular degree here.

Bit late but Groenewegen to TDT seems like a very strange deal on both ends. Aging pure sprinters tend to be the most risky asset in cycling, and Groenewegen isn't even a very reliable points scorer in smaller races. And for Groenewegen you'd expect he'd want to race the Tour de France, and TDT isn't gonna be able to get that most likely.

I fully agree with him being a fine rider whose palmares doesn't match his actual quality!

Hence why he shouldn't sign for Cofidis!

He has won Plouay, Brabantse Pijl, Québec. Had his front wheel been 1 centimetre wider in that one Amstel, he would basically have won every decent-sized one-day race that suits him. In other words, his palmares and quality are decently aligned.

The aim will be the TDF in 2027. No more Arkea, then they assume Total may not be around in 2027 and Unibet may be next in line. Unibet must have money because they outbid Jayco for Groenewegen.

Well, was he getting a contract anywhere else though? TDT does seem to like scooping up rejects from other teams like Eiking who is doing very well for them this season so perhaps it's just an opportunity to extend his career for a decent wage in lack of other offers?

Any news about Vauquelin? A team like Ineos with the new French co-sponsor should really go after him.
On the latest episode of Geraint Thomas's podcast, Luke Rowe and Ben Swift were heavily hinting that he's already signed with Ineos. But hey, nothing is done until it is done, as we learned with Ivan Sosa many years ago...

I already posted that Unibet outbid Jayco for Groenewegen's signature. Why are you posting there were no other offers.
