Awesome. Just noticed Sella lost some time and dropped from the top 20, that really helps me. My first position depends on the riders 17-20th though, so I'll probably lose it the next shake-up.

Nevertheless looking good, I can start thinking about the Tour.

Me too. I am not safe yet. You shall cheer big time for Tiralongo, as i do. Our secret tip is sooo close. 21st. Man, this guy would give us 2 points if he finishes 20th. He´s our qualifiying ticket, for sure.
OTOH, if Lövkvist makes it (currently 22nd), i would be hit real hard, since most of the opponents have him. Please Lövkvist just have some bad days...

Good for you :), real bad for us.

Now that he made it to the Top-20 with a good Mountain-ITT, Sella just decided to hurt us. I lost 2 points because of him giving up.

Even more hit were Mortand (loosing 4 points because of him) and Hitch (loosing 2 on Sella, and 2 on Garzelli just dropping from 17th to 18th).

Haha. You can´t give up. The game goes on, without mercy. ;)

Your (small) chance is Lövkvist hitting 15th dead center (he just need to make up 15 minutes.LOL) with a great ITT and miraculously Machado (needing to "find" 6 minutes) moving into the Top-20 (currently at 24th).

P.S.: And then there is a small chance for those players outside the Top-16, that qualified players forget to send picks for the TdF. It happened before, you never know... :)

I assume it is next best in the pecking order in that case right?
I might have to visit the Australian folk who make the top 16...

Exactly. So it will all depend on the tie breakers. That means it wouldn´t be bad either to have some more stage winners now. :)

I have Contador today. Hope he won´t give any more presents to his opponents...

Damn him :(

so i picked visconti for the stage he won. fair to say i'll be grumpy if i miss the cut because of that.

just as well i didn't realise when i was watching or i would've been really angry at him. just no need to go short side.

Yes, yes, yes.... "our" Tiralongo makes the Top-20. Let´s pray he survives tomorow.

Only bad taste: Contador giving another present, costing me a important (tie breaking) stage win.

My lesson is learnt: Pick 3 stage wins for the favos as early as possible...

You had LeMevel and Kreuziger right on the spot. Unlucky for you both improved today and Pinotti crashed out (= 3 points lost). A real rollercoaster game.

I (and some others) get blows every other day when some italian decides to give up (Garzelli*, Sella* and may tomorrow Tiralongo; oh no please not, he´s my qualifying ticket ).

(* very expensive since they are WC-Riders.)

Anyway, this game will be open until the last stage of the vuelta. I didn´t expect it to be that kind of thrilling. Since when i rooted for a 16th placed rider other than a german? This game brings watching cycling to another (more exciting) level. :)

Same here.. I find myself torn between cheering for Nibali to take second, since he's my favourite of the GC contenders, or hoping for Scarponi to take it since I have Nibali on three in this game. Could need that extra point, even though I'm on the safe side now. Don't have an awful lot of stage wins so far, so not looking strong for the tie breakers..

Damn Alberto. Your gifts suck, man. :D

2nd time I lose points because of that. There are better ways to get sympathy by Italians. Will be great when I miss the cut because of that.

I need Rujano to finish in 8th, and with Menchov and Kreuziger less than a minute behind him in 6th, I think it might happen! (As long as Rujano doesn't pass JRod! Go JRod!)

Question: Do the double points for Wild card teams only count for stages?
