I picked Horner to finish quite high in the top 10, so now I've had to replace him with a guy who I believe has no chance of finishing there (he may sneak into the top 20 though). Damn you Pappy!

Lol from those riders I left out,nobody cant finish 5th I guess:eek:

Same here.

But the good thing: Picks now don´t look as "sterile" as usual. Now it´s looks like some risky bettors taking their chance. ;)

@ all: I will have bolded the Horner-replacement picks. So in the end we can see what worked out and what not.
The whole Horner-mess made things more interesting than ever (ok, not for the clinic, but for the game :D)

Hitchey almost got a heart-attack when I had to tell him his first to choices for replacement don´t ride the Vuelta. Zlev was confused of everything, and just told me to correct the stages in a way it fits the rules (he gave me the replacemts though). Not attacking both of you, just to give an example how things went wild... :)

Oh... and I had to work overtime OFC.

DekkerT, Froome19, and Minessa didn´t make it, thus I had to call replacements.
Those replacements confirmed to send their picks by rule (Arredondo, Search and Oliveira)... then all of a sudden I got late night picks by Minessa. I either had to throw him out (because his replacement was confirmed) or think hard for a compromise.
I decided for the latter. Minessa stays in, but gets a 1-Point penalty. Now that leaves us with 45 instead of 44 players.
That means we will have a "further elimination race" again (like in the TdF):
The two last placed players of each division will drop out automatically, plus the lowest ranked of the remaining players (thus 9 players will drop after the Vuelta).

Now the supplemental draw for the replacements players:
To group A (replacing "Froome19") goes...

To group B (replacement for "DekkerT") goes.... Oliveira.

That leaves Search to go to either A, B, C or D. I will draw the group he goes to in the next round.

Welcome back Arredondo:)

I made a riskey pick, I had to pick someone for 5th place instead Horner. It was between Evans, garmin boys,Landa:eek: and Julian A.
I went the fanboy way for Arredondo, but Im not even sure he will aim GC:D
Then I had to replace one more guy on 20th place, and after Horner out Winner was the obvious pick.

Wow what an action even before start of 2nd round.

Search goes to... Group D. That means "Division Defraeye" will be the lone group with 12 players...

I love those draws. Could do it as full time job. ;)
We certainly will have one in next years Giro...

Within the next 20 minutes, I will have the picks open for all to see.

I had Horner 3rd. Had to decide between a gutsy 50/50 young gun pick (Anacona, Chaves, Yates, even thought about Bilbao ) or go the safer way with expierience...
I didn´t have the balls to go risk, so took the lame safe(r) way: SSanchez. He won´t finish 3rd, but I think he has the best chance to give me a point.

So the pressure is already there for many of us:
Bouhanni must win tomorrow, before results become less and less certain (crashes, sicknesses, and what else)...

Yeah, nice head start with no one else having Movistar in our division :D it was a coin flip between them and Trek for me, but made the wrong choice.
mr Arredondo told me not to pick them:D
