I've actually lost my dad, 2 uncles, and grandmother to cancer. The fact that two-bit frauds like Armstrong are exploiting this disease for personal profit is utterly disgusting.
It's much easier to pop on that little yellow bracelet and believe the myth than actually see the lie behind it all.

Let's see what charitywatch says about the LAF:

according to this site LAF is not doing so bad ( you can compare to other charities)

there are more efficient charities, but if we speak in numbers LAF is quite high

He can do that somewhere else.

Today is about Contador, Cavendish, Shleck, Pettaci, Chavanel, and not about Lance and cancer awareness and all that bull****.

Actually, this day should be about how Contador stole the Tour from Andy Shleck, but that's another topic entirely....

Man, I agree whole-heartedly. It's one thing do dislike an athlete... but what I've witnessed here over the past few months is downright sad.

You are right, the hatred that comes from Armstrong's groupies directed at Betsy, Lemond, Mike Anderson, Simeoni, Walsh, Bassons, Landis, etc. is sad.

Gotta say one thing though; seeing an (almost) entire team sitting in the road-side doing needlework is probably not something we'll see again anytime soon...

Maybe the real reason Armstrong didn't join the handywork club is because he doesn't know how to...:p

It's funny that you say Lance has tried to make this year's Tour about him, because the only place I've seen Lance talked about over the past 3 weeks is on this forum, and mostly from people who seem hate him.
Have you watched Versus coverage at all, or even logged on to their website? The very first featured video is an Armstrong montage.

You just proved you know nothing about the sport.

Versus is owned by Comcast.

Contador didn't "steal" the Tour from Schleck. You can ask "what if?", or say Schleck was stronger in the mountains, and I would agree. But to claim Contador stole the Tour from Andy is absurd.

Don't forget about the Team Classification.

Do you notice that the ASO presents awards in Order of Importance?

Stage Winner
Green Jersey
Poka Dot Jersey
White Jersey
Yellow Jersey
GC Podium
Team Classification.

That's the funny thing - I haven't seen any 'stupid 1-month posting fanboys' around here. I've only seen a bunch of haters gripe about Lance...

Paulinho got a stage which is miles better, and Horner came P10 but congratulations to Radioshack for the team classification.

Your link is to the V Foundation, not the LAF.

The V Foundation has a 69 rating. LAF has 53.

sorry about that,my mistake...the point is rating of 53 is average, there are worse foundations than LAF

even if you look at top ten LAF is quite average,so i dont see how LA is making profit out of this

That was the whole point of the previous link. The LAF has the most recognizable cancer survivor as their spokesperson and they're "quite average". Ok, there are worse charities than LAF out there. Great. That doesn't exactly inspire a lot of confidence.

Well, didn’t take long for me to get sick of this forum but this takes the cake. There is simply way too much cynicism and blind hatred. It is pathetic. I go so far as to say that reading these forums for the past months has made cycling less enjoyable for me.

Amen!.

All forums have a set of keyboard warriors that speculate & spin lies, they have nothing else in there life's.

God bless Lance for not being a loser.

i was aiming at your claim that LA has personal profit from his charity activities...unless you can provide us with numbers, accounts w/e its just what you think which might or might not be wrong

Livestrong.com is the most obvious.

Armstrong directly financially benefits from the brand built by his charity.

Agreed! I was just about to drop out of this thread myself, but I came across your post, and it nails it.

Well I’m not going to get on my knees and start sucking eh..., safe to say that in regards to Lance’s performance: I'm disappointed. He gave in too early on and didn’t bother to go for the top 10. It would have shown character if he had, and it would have been more consistent with what he has been preaching in the past.

Point being, I certainly don’t mind people debating Armstrong’s poor showing. But what is discussed in these forums is only the very far end of the spectrum and there is hardly any middle ground for meaingful debate, that makes the content of most topics really dumb, ignorant and pathetic.

Does anyone else see this as: "I may not win this thing. I may not even do very well. But doggone, this race is going to be about me anyway!"

+1...

And has anyone ever thought about the fact that testosterone patches on your "privates" can actually lead to premature cancer. Just saying...

The far end of what spectrum? Is Lance under investigation for fraud? Yes. Is there strong evidence he doped? Yes. Did he chase down Simeoni in one of the most disgusting displays of Omerta ever witnessed on live television? Yes.

Just because you can't accept reality doesn't make it any less real.
