i would imagine that since GL has been on LA's case for quite some years before Landis spilled the beans, i think it highley likely that someone out there if they knew that GL did 'things' back when they were 'alllowed' but not anymore we would have heard about it as no doubt somebody would have made money out of speaking out....

I imagine LA/Hog tried their damnedest to find someone to spill the beans...

But as we have not heard a peep out of former riders, DSs, UCI or other speaks louder than any thing...wouldn't you agree.

The going rate is 150,000 Euros.

So far not takers but if you are a former Lemond teammate who needs cash contact Public Strategies and they will take care of you.

Didn't know where else to put this, so I'll put it here rather than start a new thread. Excerpt from Willy Voet's book:

The thing which worked above all else when going to the dope control was to be one of the greats. Like borrowing from a bank which only lends money to the rich, and which gives flowers to its best customers, a famous cyclist had a lot more chance of dodging the system. That's how it is, the effects of celebrity extend to the edge of a toilet seat in a dope-control caravan. Even the doctors would be impressed at the thought of being with one of the stars, if only for a few minutes: time for an autograph, a handshake, a kind word, a smile. A star could be caught red-handed and not have to pay the price.

So, testers need to be as little informed on the sport at hand as possible. Curling enthusiasts to check cyclists, cycling enthusiasts to test cross-country skiers, etc.

In cycling, you're expected to show up to the anti-doping controls before a given time. At least in my time it worked that way.
In cross-country, you are introduced at the finish line to a best friend who'll be very grumpy yet not miss your any move until you've deposited. I saw that on lie TV once, the lady escorting the Norwegian heroin was COLD. That's the way it needs to be. No autographs permitted even, they're a potential bribe.

This would be a good idea......so why is it the UCI has employed several former Pro's as chaperons?

Yes we like stabbing each other.

Rather than the current US reality of stabbing each other in the back, who'd prefer the Spanish tradition of officials covering up clear positives, allowing champions to keep riding after being provedn dopers? Intentionally messing up investigations of mass doping supply?

Didn't O'Reilly only get $9k? Someone with a hate-on for Lemond would probably 'disclose' for less. When being a 'good guy' helps.
