So, will he be doing the "Win the GC in PNDKR, then travel to Hamburg the next day and win that race as well" schedule he followed two years ago?
According to PCS, Hamburg isn't on his schedule. However, that can change.

(Of course, two years ago he didn't the Vuelta.)

Holm questioning who came up with the (previous) plan of EC ITT, Münsterland, EC RR.
Brian... I think I know who came up with that plan...

He don't wanna do altitude camps and he don't wanna do criterium ... hope he puts on his happy face at the next training get together otherwise Milan will be doing the Tour again.

"I have refused a couple of times. You should never say never, but it is the last thing I want to do," the Dane said in his own podcast Lang Distance. "It's a done deal. It's so awful to watch, because none of the riders are even trying to make it look like they're doing a bike race. It's more important that they're wearing some kind of bike helmet with a top hat on and a flap on top in a sumo wrestler's suit. That's what they're paid to do,"

Wait, Mads has a podcast???????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

He is the absolute best, like you said, no altitude, no bull$hit and yeah, of course no criteriums.
I think I heard on a recent LRCP pod that a recent study has cast doubt on the effectiveness of altitude camps....so.....yeah Mads!!

From what I understand, it's basically "works for some, not for others."
And if Mads is one of the people it doesn't work for, it makes sense he's not much interested.

Daniel Friebe (I think) mentioned this to Larry Warbasse in a recent episode of the Cycling Podcast and Larry seemed pretty convinced that altitude training was effective for him. I assume they can judge it by their numbers too, so it's probably evidence based rather than just his opinion. Presumably it varies by athlete?

Did anyone who watched the stage see how the crash was? Sucks especially if its serious enough to disrupt his training for the big races.

'however it will force him to miss important racing and potentially take some time off the bike.' - Doesnt look very optimistic.

Even if Pogacar "only" scores around 5000 points, he'll still be a pretty good pick.

Likewise, even if Mads only scores around 2000 points, he'd still be decent.

Not really, because you want to get a decent profit out of spending that many points. With the right riders you cou should be able to double that amount, and that definitely won't happen here.

Surely, 5000 points is a good amount of points.

But this is about Mads! Hopefully, he isn't too badly hurt.

Crap! He has fractured both a collarbone and a wrist.

The wrist probably means he will have to sit out the whole classics season.

Maybe he can do a Hayman but that's probably wishful thinking.
