I wonder why people could ever get Anglophobia
Yes, you are certainly proof of someone who has that condition.

I don't think that Valverde is hyped on this forum. It's just that we're excited that he'll be back to racing and we know that, every race he enters, he goes for the win. So whatever the outcome was, I know that I'll be satisfied because he would've put a good show.

LOL, this post is coming from one of the main hypers of Valverde.

Actually, I've seen you fight more with the English on this forum than I have.

Always funny to see someone bring up the old' nation of convicts arguments. It's like Godwin's law in a discussion between Englishmen and Aussies.

What else is Gilbert supposed to say? If he said he would do worse, no one would respect him as a competitor. He has to approach this season with the goal to do just a little bit more. There is no other way

I agree but just imagine him getting even better.

That would be mind-boggling.

Imagine Fleche Wallone 2012 with pretty much the same situation and an even better Gilbert

imo a top shape contador, anton and evans would give robo-bert a good run for his money on the muur and this even tho contador and anton rode the race, neither were in top shape as they were aiming for the giro and unfortunately evans didn't rode it due to injury.

The next best in ardennes week was rodriguez who I don't think really found form until the Dauphine. I'm hoping Valverde, Contador have a go, Rodriguez can hit form a little earlier, though if Evans rides with Gilbert that could present a problem, that's some leadout or 2nd card to play. Gilbert being in better form...maybe he's thinking he can start to ride mountains and not just hills?

Yeah they are so much better that must explain why Gilbert has the best time on the mur by FAR while celebrating the last 100 meters.

Parrulo didn't say they could beat Gilbert, let alone say that they are 'much better' as you infer. Just that they could contend and make it closer than it was this year.

You might be right, but I still beleive that I hype Valverde much less than u do for Evans. I even think that you hype Cadel to a certain degree that he will soon start hyping you. :p

We'll see soon enough at Tirreno-Adriatico how good Phil is at steep walls. It's the stage race I'm looking most forward to besides the Giro and Tour.

ya T-A is imo the best stage race outside of the GT's, always delivers some great racing, and next year with phill, contador, nibali, basso, scarponi, cunego, evans and a couple others it can be one of the best editions ever

Perhaps even Valverde will be going to T-A. Although he'll probably try and win Paris-Nice now Contador isn't doing Paris-Nice anymore.

I've always liked the Dauphiné more than T-A because of the longer climbs, but yea the short and extremely steep climbs of T-A are great to watch too.

i never found neither the dauphine nor the TdS very attractive, they only feel like preparation races for the tour and never deliver like the giro just did, also half way through the season a person isn't as desperate for action as it is in march :p

The only question is, is Valverde annoyed enough to seek revenge on the Italians, or will he just boycott Italy even more than he used to?

indeed thats a good question but maybe he will try to get his revenge on the italians later in the season after the worlds possibly wearing the rainbow stripes and during the italian 1 day races finishing with the GdL. starting with T-A and M-SR would be riskier as he may lack the shape while by the end of the year he may be back to his old self

I have say in ACFs' defence he has not been hyping Cadel so much for next year. Also it's not as if he has cause to, Cadel ( Gilbert ) both had amazing seasons with their goals fulfilled. I think it would be fairer to say that people are arguing as to whether they can go well again next year, and the fanboys are hoping that they can which might be constructed as hyping, but which in my view is not.

Hyping is like what we are doing with Mollema, Rolland and Sicard.
