If both options are illegal, you should stop riding when you need to change helmet.

But if riders just... don't change helmets?

Of course, I suppose if it simply becomes the norm that riders change their helmets right after a crash where they had hit their head, then that would work too...

It might also be said that if the blow were bad enough to break the helmet, he should be forced to take a concussion test. Do we know whether he was sanctioned for riding while removing it?

Having seen him with the helmet removed, I was disappointed not to see his hair bleached and sprayed to within an inch of its life. That was the image that his name brings to mind for me...

When a rider lands on his back, as Kajamini obviously did, I wonder about how much damage those radio packs might do: I hope they collapse into pieces with little resistance.

Actually, why it would bring any images...

Yeah... that could be a serious problem.

The radio thing has been a concern for me for some time, whenever I see i rider hit the ground hard with his back first.

The UCI has called on cycling stakeholders, including riders, teams, and race organisers to come together to work on reforms to the structure of professional cycling.

In a letter signed by the UCI president, David Lappartient made reference to failed initiatives to reform the sport in the past as said "there is no other way" other than to sit down at the UCI table.

I don't see anything all that revolutionary in there. More like saying we are prepared to take responsibility to develop this sport further and honestly that is not a bad thing. Ultimately UCI is responsible.

Personally i don't want for pro road peloton or football or even European basketball ... to become what modern F1 is. So i am not all that supportive of such attempts. As for UCI and their responsibility, ultimately they are responsible for everything good, bad and the ugly in pro peloton. UCI was evading that in recent years and a lot of harm came out of it because of that, hopefully they are saying they are prepared to take on more responsibility now, they can't elope in hardship, they need to lead. We'll see.

It's really hard to comprehend that the UCI would prioritize a legal battle against multiple teams and one of only two viable component manufacturers over the infamous 10 tooth cog.
The sport is being bombed in all directions with races, teams, governments deciding not to be involved in bike racing. And almost on or near the same day, Team Visma announced possible doom without @€30,000,000 infusion.
Somehow someone at the UCI sees court battle about a cassette cog as important.
Pictures of horrible crash in ALULA, with riders laying in rocks and some involved riding Shimano that don't offer the fabled troubling, dangerous, fix all safety issues gearing.
What are these people doing?
No big press conference about dramatic, comprehensive safety plan so that horrible events at TDF and Vuelta of people getting on the race course and stages being ruined, shortened, made dangerous, riders being injured and instead of jubilant awards ceremony, event held semi privately in parking facility.
What are these people doing? Does UCI have money and resources to dedicate more than @€5-10 euros on such silliness? No..obviously no.
