Top 13 in all monuments of the season. A pity he was blocked in the sprint in MSR and that PR is cancelled or it could have been five top 10s. I don't think that has happened since Kelly's time.

The outstanding favourite for de Ronde for me. Van Aert a bit below since he should be over the edge of his peak by now. Imagine the two of them dropping the rest of the field on the Paterberg and riding together to the finish. That would be a dream for every cx fan and it's far from an unlikely scenario.
I might forget someone because it's such an odd year, but who's going to challenge them? Quick Step isn't looking strong so far at all for the cobbles, for their standards.
Dumb move by Wout to call MVDP, of all people, out. Wout's always taken the safe route - joins a superteam in JV, races conservatively, etc., and then calls out the ultimate maverick who's made a living out of kicking his a__? MVDP is going to destroy him at RVV.
You knew
Didn't Wout drop his chain or sth? Otherwise he'd have been right on that.Have been shitting on his tactics a lot, but today he did everything perfectly, from being onto Alaphilippe at the right time (Van Aert had to chase hard for a while to get back) to timing the sprint from the front perfectly.
If you're going to give props to everybody who predicted he would win, mine were posted on August 1st and in back in March. So you'd have to go much farther back.Nostradamus

But whatever. I mean, you don't HAVE to or anything. You know. Would be nice of course. But i'm not going to twist your arm or anything. Just that... i thought, that's what you were doing, so. I just thought i'd mention it. But don't feel obligated or anything. You're free NOT to, obviously...
Hey, did you know Roglic was a ski jumper until he was in his twenties?I just found today out that Raymond Poulidor is MVdP's grandfather Had no idea!!! Quite a storied cycling dynasty, 3 generations, together with his dad Adrie...

Genetically he was predestined to collect a lot of second places. RP was nicknamed the Eternal Second; AvdP won five silver medals in cyclocross before he finally won the world title.I just found today out that Raymond Poulidor is MVdP's grandfather Had no idea!!! Gilbert 2011 was way more impressive than VdP. Top 10 in all 4 monuments he raced and actually contended for the win in 3 of them.Top 13 in all monuments of the season. Agreed, but Gilbert in 2011 was what 29/30 years old and at the very peak of his career? Hardly a fair comparison at this stage of Mathieu- and Wout’s careers.
If they keep developing at this rate than who knows one of them might best Gilbert at the peak of their career.
Furthermore, I share the sentiment that we haven’t really seen spring season 2019 and especially RVV 2019 level from Mathieu this year. This seems mostly down due to the covid19 mismanagement and overtraining which he confirmed himself.
This is why I’m so excited for next season, Mathieu vs Wout at their best throughout the whole season.
Wasted the craziest Mur record by celebrating while still on the steep partYeah but Gilbert 2011 was something unreal I've never seen again
