Not sure those races can pay him enough money to possibly have a negative impact on his road season. He just wants be sure he wins his 7th WC, and is willing to put in the work for that.

yep, but like last season he was so far ahead of everyone else, he was just getting a 40-50min solo training session out of it, well he can do that by himself anywhere he likes and doesnt have to put up with idiots in the crowd. he probably felt 3 races were the bare minimum for a tilt at the WC, also keeping in mind sponsorship commitments, but the other races needed to up the appearance fees to make his list, which by letting it be known participation might be in doubt, might have done the trick., or maybe Im just too cynical.

After his victory he said his road season will be very similar to last year except that he’ll ride Paris-Nice or Tirreno-Adriatico. He probably wants a bit of race hardness before riding MSR. I expect him in better shape than last year
Good. I wonder if he can actually fight Pogacar in Flanders. He's the only hope of preventing a Pogi clean sweap in all monuments he enters (thank *** Pogi isnt entering PR)

I think that with the extra length they have added, Van der Poel is not a favourite for Strade Bianche. I could be wrong tho
I love MvdP but I agree does not favour him versus some others.

But who else is raiding SB? I would love to see Evenepoel there this year above anyone he would have the best chance to be closest, but that aint happening now. Wva? Jonas I severely doubt that will happen too for several reasons but I would be pleasently suprised.

Van gils podium inc btw

Lol. There is zero evidence he would be close to Pogacar. In fact, every indicator proves he would not stand a chance. 2024 Tour, 2021 Giro, he is not a good bike handler. Seriously, Remco is amazing but he is so overrated. Some guys talk like he is the second coming of Merckx but he can't compete with the best (in a mano a mano) in every terrain bar flat TTs.

Well im not one of those cause he simply isnt and not even in that league even. Lets not go there mate we agree to disagree on some things but much more agree and
BTW I agree I dont think he would be close to Pogacar in SB either I just think he would be the closest in that particular race out of everyone but still not very close in reality. Im not sure I might be wrong but i tend to look at it more from a Ardenees perspective these days from result lists alone.
Bikehandler stuff I agree on and it matters to some degree in SB more than others to what degree I dont know.

Any people who say Remco is closer to compete against Pogi in SB compared to MVP or even WVA are dellusional.

Im not sure its that clear but yeah I would take MVDP over him aswell indeed.

But ill moderate myself I wouldnt take Evenepoel over MVDP I wouldnt do that, no. Thats not logical. But I meant without MvdP since it was already established he wouldnt ride it so theres that.

Mvdp engine is hugee , evidently from E3, RVV, Robauix, WC etc etc even SB even if it was less hilly.
But nevertheless I would like to se him there as the result list are very Ardennes ish and simply from that point alone it would be cool to see what he could do if nothing else.

He’ll easily give him a fight, and probably win it too. When he lost from Pogacar in Flanders he wasn’t as good as he is now. Ever since completing a TDF he became a better rider, which he showed at the WC he won as well as previous spring season.
