But they're not all Doctors. And you've added no dialogue to whom they work with and what they prescribe.

Which teams?

Well, Netserk did a good and appropriate edit (good work) but the obvious answer to most notorious has to be the one who dopes 'young men'!

It seems you are just here to disrupt an interesting thread the hog has started. You certainly are earning that loon title you branded yourself with.

Conconi just about invented scientific doping.

As for Sassi, I don't think he was medically qualified, more of a scientist. His early involvement in doping appears quite peripheral. Certainly it was Conconi/Ferrari who ran Moser's blood doping efforts. Of course he was DS at Mapei and I'm sure there was plenty of doping there but Squinzi was avowedly anti-doping. Anyway in later years Sassi was vehemently anti-doping but I'm not sure you could say that was a huge turn-around.

Wasn't Conconi the guy the UCI got to try to develop an EPO test, which he attempted whilst administering EPO on the side?

Excellent work, L'arri, as to be expected.

Of course, the very first thing I did was check out dopeology.org, but I didn't immediately spot a "doctors" subset or similar.

Did I miss something?
(Or did you post that all from memory?)

You're right. There is no way of filtering such a list. Yet. ;)

Nice to see a veterinarian :D for a change.

Funny thing to me was when I realized a few years back that I had raced against the guy in Bordeaux-Paris 25 years ago (in 1986 or 1988).

(I think his lawyer friend Lavelot was there as well)

Oof, what a tiring race. That said, Sainz was quite the "toubib" for uppers.

I appreciate your insight: reading articles down the years, Lavelot and Sainz did seem to be inseparable, a sort of odd couple. They certainly helped inculpate each other when the police came calling. IIRC, Lavelot stored the bulk of Sainz's effects in his office.

Strictly speaking, Sainz (aka "Dr Mabuse") shouldn't be in the list because he has no medical qualifications whatsoever, but he's probably one of the longest serving dope "docs" of all time. His client list goes waaaayyyy back.

Yep, it's just a list to help jog folks' memory for the purposes of discussion. Happy to delete if you think it's not a useful contribution.

Francesco Conconi - Introduced EPO into cycling by fooling the IOC (and using their money), claiming to be developing a test when actually he was developing the drug. http://www.podiumcafe.com/2011/2/16...on-the-causes-of-doping-francesco-conconi-and

Was the IOC, not the UCI

Also from the wiki on Conconi:

Clients of Conconi [edit]
Gianni Bugno, former World Champion & winner Giro d'Italia
Maurizio Damilano
Luigi Della Bianc
Emma Scaunich
Mario Cipollini, former world champion
Laurent Fignon, Tour de France winner
Miguel Indurain, Tour de France winner

Francesco Moser
Denis Zanette, died suspiciously at the dentist's[30]

What about Conte and 'Memo' Heredia? They were not doctors but clearly knew a lot about pharmacy.

Conte only got busted after a jealous Trevor Graham sent in a sample of his invisible gear. Up to then he was happily dispensing a whole array of pharmaceuticals to his athletes with no other doctor in sight.

Some feel Conte was more a salesman than a Doctor.

But he does appear to know a lot about 'supplements'.

He's not a bloodman though.

We could also class them by specialty.

For example, Fuentes - gynocologist, Duquette - orthopedist, etc.
and alternative sports.

triathlon
rowing
swimming

Still butthurt from the Walsh tweet, eh?

It was a trolling thread - but now has the potential to turn in to an interesting thread after a Mod gutted the OPs post.
However thehog is still determined to highlight one particular person. You might want to avoid supporting them as it didn't work well for you before.

This is the classic example of what happens if you have no idea about the topic. You are posting bs.

If everyone was as careful, humble and empathic, nobody would be getting caught. (Un)fortunately most athlets are greedy and fall for even greedier trainers/consultants/managers.
