FanBoy Nation will be in triplicate next year:

The Lance FanBoys rooting for Lance,

The anti-Lance FanBoys rooting for Schlecket,

The anti-Lance FanBoys rooting for Contador,

(And of course there will be the Cadel FanBoys thinking that his - well earned - WC rainbow jersey earns him consideration.)

Why do you have to be anti-Lance to be supporting Contador or the Schlecks?

You dont.

You are an anti-Fanboy if, however, your motivation is to see Lance utterly humiliated. It was a poke towards TTF who has carved many bones with his distain for Lance.

And not a very good one considering I, being one of the "anti-Lance Fanboys" to wit you refer, am still posting and it is almost October. Most of the other kind however are nowhere to be seen...which was my point. Keep trying, you will get the hang of this sarcastic comment thing any day now.

Really now...

Whereas the FanBoys you so denigrate are only around during July, you, as you readily admit, are around year-round.

And you quip "thank goodness July has been redacted."

How's Cadel at football/soccer?
I hear Man Utd are looking for an attacking striker.;)

Well, he might have won the FA cup , but the Champions League is out of reach. :)

When it was between Cadel, Rodriguez and Kolobnev I was kinda rooting for Cadel since I like to have big names win the Worlds. Strange sensation.

You are obviously ignorant of the many posts I make that do not involve the single balled individual. Add that to the list, which is obviously quite lengthy.

Mellow's point taken as well...

It is a glorious day here in NW Colorado - ribs on the grill in just a bit - hope the same in western NC.

And as we are bickering, Australian cycling fans will soon be wakening up for monday's work with (hopefully) euphoric (hopefully not) hangovers.

Cadel Evans - 2009 World Champion.

With Melbourne, next year, I was going to sneak in the
"Another mistimed attack from Cadel," jest, until
I realised it included the word; attack!

Seriously, he has shown this sort of ability and nature in his Italian one day races and the C+B.
He only seems to go into his shell at bigger stage races.

I think he's still haunted by the spectre of the 2002 Giro.

Congrats to Cadel and all those residing in the former penal colony down under. A great cycling nation finally has a big championship to savor.

Enjoy!

When Aussies travel abroad, are they considered fugitives? And shouldn't their Champions jersey reflect their heritage:

I like Cadel, but he is frustrating to support. Constantly finishing second in situations that he should win.
My work friends all know of my lack of confidence in his ability to get the job done, so when I rolled into work this morning and was told that Cadel had won overnight, my exact repsonse can't be typed due to the word filter.

Anyway, its great to see him finally get over the line in something that counts. It should also be a good boost to the sport here, which is great too.

Lastly, I think its funny that the Spanish didn't win. Maybe they only work together well when they're not on the same team! :D

Thanks to all for being such good sports while we bask in our moment in the sun.

Man Cadel was strong out there today, despite how good Cancellara was, I still think Cadel deserved it.

Going out for a ride this morning was such a pleasure, it might have been done on just two hours sleep after the excitement died down, but it was fuelled on memories of some great racing. well done to all those guys who made for such an exciting race.
