So it is clear, Bernal won't be at the Tour:
Egan Bernal will not race 2021 Tour de France
Colombian may head to Vuelta a España, with Olympics uncertain due to back painwww.cyclingnews.com
Let him finish this race please before they ask him.
Damn, this is an interesting opinion. I'm a huge believer in Roglic supremacy but I wouldn't expect him to drop Bernal in his current form - apart from last 500m MTF sprint of course.... I'd say Roglič could gain a couple of seconds here and there but other than that I think he'd have to rely on TT to get it done.I would be shocked if he is anywhere near Roglic; I ll go even further, I will be surprised if he is able to follow the JV train at all times

But there's always a weaker field argument of course - so I'm not entirely sure about my opinion...
If the chainsaws weren't on, it's funny, they're just doing their bit for the environment. If they were powered on, probably not that funny. Those chainsaw "fans" - I hope they get arrested.

I hope they are around on tomorrow's climb as well, so that we may rename it as Motosega di Ala.Egan Bernal chased up Giro d'Italia climb by chainsaw wielding fans
Two men operating chainsaws ran alongside race leader on Passo Giauwww.cyclingnews.com
Now we know on why he won the stage. He had no choice. Win or the chainsaw.
This is the Bernal thread, so we talk about Thomas. In the Thomas thread we talk about Bernal. It is the new forum guidelines!Damn, this is an interesting opinion. This was about Thomas, Bernal I agree, it would be damn close if we are talking about mountains; in Vuelta or steep Giro climbs I think Bernal could even drop RoglicDamn, this is an interesting opinion. Ok, that explains it I expect Thomas to surprise in a positive way as well though. But yeah - I think 9 out of 10 are rating Bernal higher than Thomas ATM.It was about Thomas, not Bernal.
I agree. Similarly people need to be a bit careful to not overreact today IMO.People were very reactionary to claim Bernal could take it to Pogacar.
