obviously, berto was under some pressure in stage 6 at p-n and equally obvious, he and his team managed just fine though he was isolated.
astana will be much stronger at the tour. again and again, people failed to mention max iglinsky who demonstrates both stamina and good climbing legs. people overlook martinelli’s shrewd use of other teams and alliances. vino’s thirst for individual stage wins and his escapes will only strengthen this tactic. it’s not unfounded to question astana’s strength. but it is ridiculous to look at the obviously dynamic inspired well lead team as an amorphous body.
