a+e Armstrong Biography

Watched it last night.

I noticed Ls' phisique @ 16, CC criticizing L for breaking away in first big race,L giving interview after loosing ball, brain surgery on L, Eddy Merckx signing books w. L during recovery.

Also friends of L. recounting memories of L. in sports during jr. high and mom talking about L. scraping it in Jr. high.

Looks to me like L. gets his strength through his anger at his 2 non Dads.

Anger is a powerful motivator in cycling, examples LeMond, Hinault, Armstrong.

Flicker, when he is not posting as WL, cannot seem to get his story straight. The reasoning changes every week.

No..You are wrong. I post mostly as Polish, and sometimes as Flicker. Believe me it's tough. Lucky I'm very smart and just have to post the truth..

Awesome, great place to ride a bike if you can stand the summer heat. gasp!

Yeah, it is beautiful there. My girlfriend is from Grass Valley and her family is all there as well. She grew up going to the Classic. The area has been hit really hard by the recession. She said Lance doing the Classic really helped it. I can't wait to be there for the ToC.

What would be the "new business related to bike racing"?

If it is Mellow Johnny's California that would not be cool. Go to a small town with a local bike shop that supports the race where you have your only win in 4+ years and then compete against that shop would be a D-Bag move!

My wife's family is from lives between Nevada City and Grass Valley. I love it there. Just beautiful country, and great roads for riding, not to mention Downieville and 16+ miles of downhill mountain biking. We are going in June again this year, and I will be at the Classic. Great race.

Yea, the Tour of Nevada City bike shop is a really cool shop. I am using them this year for a road bike rental when I am there, and they couldn't be nicer people. It says Armstrong's business is associated with racing, and that doesn't exactly sound like a bike shop.

It looks like he's wearing a flak jacket or something underneath--I can see the outline under his kit. At least to my eyes....

Those are just his bib short straps. Bib short straps that are strained to the breaking point to be more precise.

I am inclined to agree with The Hog here - I don't see him finishing Flanders. It's a Hell of a hard race and he's never going to get a sniff of the front group. After he gets dropped he will drop out. My prediction anyway, if I'm wrong I can write it off as an April Fool's joke.

Agreed. He's not going to get that Thanksgiving belly to the finish.

Although if there is a mass pile up he'll be well protected by a drivers side airbag.

I think you are right.

And I disagree with you and the Hog. I think he finishes in the top 10. He said he's feeling good, so that means we will see some dancing on those pedals!!!!

I guess you meant top 10 "from the bottom upwards"- didn't you?:D

Just what the doctor ordered in 40-something degree Flemish weather. Probably has that on to counteract the long sleeve jersey, leg warmers and full fingered gloves.

Horses hind end

I do not think Lance would make a big deal about coming to this race unless he was willing to make a performance. RW is a classic it is not a show race.

Lance will make the haters cry. Just watch!

I say RW win Lord Armstrong.

Even if Armstrong rides all out, the specialists will fight this one out. Cancellara, flecha, boonen, gilbert, pozzato are all flying. Armstrong may have improved, but there is no way he finishes ahead of any of these guys or even in the same group. Best he will do is finish top 20...I actually think he will.

EDIT: Top 20 isn't very sensible is it, short sharp climbs for an old man...I'll stick with it. My reasoning? The winter pelt has to serve some purpose.
