I think in the post-TT video Armstrong says he averaged 56.4KMPH. So unless the laws of physics/mathematics have changed, the route wasn't 14 miles. And yes, I was being sarcastic (poking fun at another forum member who's handle I'm not going to get right).

I'm with you on this one. some people have a very sharp edge. for instance I can't figure out why Ravens took such a heavy beating for posting a very innocent oppinion.

LA being a douche does not change the fact that some people find inspiration in him. I don't want to restart any of those tensions, but I just can't figure out where Ravens said anything out of line.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course...

mine simply differs from yours. Go right ahead and analyze the little things, I simply don't see the need, just a difference of opinion.

Guys the wind on the Queen K was insane yesterday. Likely a steady 40 kph with gusts in the 60's. Would've been a tailwind the whole way.

So are Levi and Kloden going to have to prostitute themselves further by riding behind Lance blowing on him to get him up any mountains? I know the moto outriders can give you a pull in the ITTs, but I think even they draw the line at carrying a desk fan set on high behind a rider to give him some propulsion...

Nope, the math doesn't work out. Exagerating performances yet again. I think the quoted 71kg was "he doesn't have the power, but can still climb" take on entering the tour last year from carmichael.

I'm tipping he gets to the tour rides, is found out early. Then does nothing useful and when kloden, yes kloden, steps up to win, claims it was his sacrifice that got the win.

I don't know man. It might make you a father again, or worse...me!

There is no chance of my wife ever bearing another child, and no sane woman wants me. But then again, this one may just be crazy enough.

We're gonna get shouted off the thread shortly.....hmmm...Lance Sux!!!! That oughtta be on topic enough...and wine is a performance inspiring (if not enhancing) drug.

I think the myth would better be served if his followers didn't see him humiliated. Therefore, he will 'fall ill', or claim injury after the TOC.

I wonder if any of his teammates mind being used as a tool for a guy with such a small chance of winning. It's a giant hoax, imo.

I like Kloden, wouldn't feel bad if he won (see sig), though certainly not as happy as if AC won.

Who said anything about wifey bearing another child?....Ok that might have gone too far, my bad.

Back on topic....

What if he does win? That's not just directed at you, by the way. I'm curious to know how people would respond if Lance actually beats him. Would they cry foul? Or would they admit he rode a better race?

He'll work for LL in ToC, obviously in the hope that LL will do that for him too in July.

Highly unlikely he wins, but if he does you have to give the guy credit.

Good new for Lance and the team today.

3 riders in the top ten. Great climbing.

Have to agree. Except for AC winning:eek: Lance and the team have to be thrilled.

It will be a miracle of doping. It would not surprise me that much because we have seen in the past that Armstrong views attempts at reducing the doping in cycling as an opportunity to gain advantage over his rivals by doping even more. 1999 was a case in point. There was a radical decrease in the number of riders using EPO during the race compared to 1998 (40 positives compared to 12) but Armstrong (with 6 out of the 12 positives) used EPO throughout the TdF.

Having followed the stage via text, I would say definite good day of climbing for Machado and Levi, with one qualifier: Astana really dominated the stage. They drove the peloton from beginning to end and delivered AC to victory.

So kudos to Radio Shack, but they are missing that next level they had with Contador. I wonder if they will give Machado the reins in some other stage races, because he's clearly got the goods in the mountains.
