Didn't he say he was at 71kg at the 2009 TdF? He looked like an anorexia boy there with his collapsed cheeks :s So no, he's definately not at the weight now, seeing he still has way about the same amount of muscle mass...

The dauphine will be a good indicator though.

I have an opinion on this topic, but perhaps this isn't the appropriate forum to discuss the matter.

The craziest thing for me is the follow vehicle. Now granted, I have not seen that many pro 'superstars' training, but when you see a couple of riders being followed by an SUV, it is a bit odd! (note: the shoulder on much of the Queen K is wide enough for the SUV to follow right behind without being in the way of other traffic)

The Low Weight and High Cadence transformations that carried Lance to his TdF Victories earlier this century are a thing of the past.

Lance has transformed back into the Pedal Mashing Chubby Chub Chub of his early years. Lance is also not so anal about weighing his food nor does he chase and stare down the dopers like Ricco to teach them lessons anymore.

Lance has mellowed - and you can tell this comeback thing is grounded in his love of the sport of bicycling. And keeping the LAF momentum going.

Lance is pushing FORTY years old - he is not going to win the TdF lol.

It is sad that lance had to ferry and plant those two fans up there to cheer him on. Lance should learn how to use that twtter thingy to attract attention.
He probably could have attracted ten people at least - and maybe they could have drove themselves too.

9 seconds over 14 miles. 72 seconds over 112...yep that'll cover lance's deficit in the swim and run to mix it with the ironman pros in his new career. Would be more interested to see the result if they both put in an effort.

It can't possibly be. R*T=D R= 56.4KM T= .3058333 (18'35"/60) produces a distance of 17.249KM or just under 10.7 miles (17.249*.62). Guys the wind on the Queen K was insane yesterday. Likely a steady 40 kph with gusts in the 60's. Would've been a tailwind the whole way.

Obviously the math is very strait forward, but I was not sure whether the speed number visible on the pic had anything to do with the average speed, but thanks for clarifying that.

I think in the post-TT video Armstrong says he averaged 56.4KMPH. So unless the laws of physics/mathematics have changed, the route wasn't 14 miles. And yes, I was being sarcastic (poking fun at another forum member who's handle I'm not going to get right).

In all fairness, LA gave Lieto props for his ride and how small the difference was, also given that CL swims, runs, and normally races his bike for more like 180 km.
