If I recall correctly either Phil Liggett or Paul Sherwin live in South Africa in the offseason so it's natural if it is Liggett that he would have an interest in this event.

WTF is up with Velonews?! Embarrassing effort? He bonked and then attacked hard on the last day. He didn't quit. He didn't go through the motions. He picked himself up, dusted himself off and fought to the end. Nothing embarrassing about that.

Contador is doing everything to prepare for this year's Tour. Radio Shack look like garbage. The Classics are a month away and Armstrong has done what, exactly? And the races he's done he's looked mediocre, bloated (just like last year), tired and old.

Oh, I forgot-perpetual fanboy and Armstrong proctologist Bob Roll has stated that Lance can recover better than anyone in the sport. That may have been true some years ago, but certainly it is impossible at his age even with the doping program.

If these guys bust out of the gate with their infamous Johan Bruyneel "Train" like it was 2003-04-05 and no one jumps up and down crying bloody murder, I'll retire from the sport of armchair bantering.
