I guess it's silly arguing with someone who's to dumb to know when they are being insulted.

I always find it ironic that when someone is questioning the intelligence of another forum participant, they inevitably misspell a word or otherwise say something that underscores their own ineptitude.

His DS had won how many tours at that point? You seriously want to compare the new guy that I'm certain you never even heard of 3 months ago to Johann?

That's martinelli? I'm sure a lot of us had heard of him before three months ago. Won five grand tours with four different riders. This time next year he'll probably have won seven with five riders.

I'm not quite sure what to make of all this, but what is this reasoning based on?
Apparantly if Armstrong wins "de ronde", Roubaix or any other major race besides the tour, you think that will prove that he is clean.

About the age. I suppose it differs from rider to rider. If I'm not mistaken I think Poulidor attained second place in the tour aged 39.
But it is not very difficult to find examples showing the opposite. Again I'm a little uncertain but I don't think Coppi did very well in his late thirties, only one of the greatest champions of all time.

No, i don't think the possibility that he wasn't clean can ever be erased. maybe if he had agreed to let the testing be done on his frozen samples. Maybe what he was using was not being tested for a few years ago? Wasn't the last Olympics where they used a new test for whatever it was and low and behold they popped several people for it. something thye weren't able to test before. Anyway, his star will always by an asteric with a question mark. Unfortunately, i might add. I wish it were all true, being clean. As far as winning something else? That isn't to say i am clean after all. that if for him to show that i still have the ability to win even though there is a test now for what i amy have been on then. Just show he has the ability 'unassisted' to win. Winning the Giro/roubaix, something like that would shut up a lot of the nay sayers. At least make them think, maybe he has always been clean. I just think, that only a couple years off, for an athlete of that caliber when he walked away, he should be able to bring it back to that level if it was truly 'dedication and hard work'. not like he didn't do anything for those couple years.

Carboncrank is gathering a huge following of enemies.

I've never seen someone as good as him at garnering negative attention.

Amble on over to the obama thread, I bury his negative/ignore rating! Doesn't matter, I am enjoying every minute of it.

He did not stand to have any greater personal glory if Lance won over Alberto.

You can't really be serious? With the recent Armstrong announcement that he and Bruyneel are like brothers how could he not gain "greater personal glory" by an Armstrong win over one by a rider (Contador) that he admits to never having established any kind of bond with in their time together?

Armstrong's "bond" to Bruyneel has more to do with the fact that Bruyneel is the only idiot blind enough to put together a team around someone's ego.

Aside from this, let's not forget that Armstrong's comeback to the cycling world (back in 99) has made Bruyneel a very wealthy man. Bruyneel himself was asked once by Marca as to why he did not see the same type of relatioship with Alberto and he replied saying something to the effect that they did indeed have A relationship, but that he regretted not having a business relationship with him.

Meaning Alberto refused to become his bítch.

welll.... he DOES look thinner than last July. I hope his complexion is a photoshop job, either that or he mistook his microwave for his altitude tent.

Nope. That's the color he's sporting Down Under.
Looks very wrinkled (old) too.
Orange tends to clash with Shack red.
*mgen trying to corner the "Tan as you Dope" market?
Obviously they are still in the early testing phase.

I can imagine someone as stupid as you being DS of a team with the worlds greatest rider on it, hiring the former 7 time champ who's been off the bike for 3 or 4 years, then trying to sabatoge that worlds best rider so that the guy that's been off the bike for years and recovering from a shattered collar bone has a better chance to win the tour. Knowing that in the tour the slightest misstep can cost you the win, I can imagine someone as stupid as you doing that.

I don't in my wildest dreams imagine Johann doing that. Johann is just as happy if Kloden wins it or if Levi wins it.

If you managed a soccer team, would you mess with your chances to win the world cup to get your best friend to score the winning goal?

Well, if you were stupid you might.

all you have to do is go back a few pages in this thread to see the un doctored version of this pic.

kind of sick that supposed cycling fans have nothing better to do that defile Lance photos isn't it?

He's way into your head.

Even over on the the Contador thread almost every post talks about Lance or Johann or both.

You hate the guy but you can't shut up about him?
