And to think that Lance ever harped on Greg for being fat/out of shape/ having gained weight. Anyone remember those comments by him about Greg?
And no, I don't think his highness is fat; he's definitely bigger than usual, however. Then again, remember the back cover of From Lance to Landis?

"God knows what happened during that winter..."

F*cking hilarious movie!

On another note, I think turning 40 is a recipe for getting fatter - man does it go on easily :p

I couldn't agree more...Hit 40s and gain weight!! What the heck is going on? Exercise, eat less, healthy...more weight!! Oh well, I'm handling the cold winters better now!!

Is there a chance that it's not fat? He could be wearing a money belt with his appearance fees to remind him of how successful he's been this year as a pro cyclist.

Look at the pictures LA tweeted of himself in South Africa the same week as the charity ride/race. (Daryl Impey is in some of the pictures as well.) In many of them he looks much smaller than he does during the charity race. How can a guy be going from looking thin to bloated and large in the same week? What could cause a person's physique to change so much? Camera angles? Is there something else? It's strange.

I was wondering if he could be wearing some kind of undergarment, like a cooling vest, which would account for his midsection looking larger, but his upper arms and legs also appear to be larger and smaller in different videos and images from that same week.

You see Boonen lately? He is thin. Going to light it up in the next month

Never seen Boonen at the front of a hilly stage like we saw in Tirenno. He is going well.

But it seems like the better riders built like Boonen climb, the worse they sprint. Good for RvV, bad for MSR perhaps?

Unfortunately there is no Universal Sports on directv. I had the same dilemma and was able to plug the old analog antenna into the TV and pick it up on network TV first try. If you're reasonably close to the motor city you could try it also. I believe acquaintances told me they get it on WADL/38.2. Hope it works for you as the first day of Spring really does start on Saturday and you don't want to miss it.

Fat watch will be on patrol in Milan this weekend. All will be revealed this weekend. If he refuses to drop the gilet and the winter coat then we know why.

You can still watch it online

Watch the 101st Milan-San Remo on Universal Sports TV on March 20 at 3 p.m. ET or watch the race LIVE online that day beginning at 10 a.m. ET.

For some fun reading see the riders to watch section just below that. Lance is a rider to watch, but Boonen, Gilbert, and Pettachi are "Others to keep an eye on"? WOW!

"The Hog"'s Last Day

Earlier this week, "The Hog" vowed to LEAVE the forum for GOOD if Lance finishes "la classica di Primavera" on Saturday.

Gosh, "The Hog" may soon be leaving us....sad face

Anyway, I thought I would start a thread for forumites to offer up Goodbyes and Goodluck Wishes to "The Hog" while there is still time....

So I will start it off with a recap of the 1993 Milan San Remo!

--------------------------------------------------------------
The sea was angry that day my friends, like a certain young man by the
name of Lance Armstrong attacking on the Cipressa:

photo-40-1.jpg

Lance is only 21 years old BTW and "The Hump" is still undeveloped:

photo-41-1.jpg

Lance stays near the very front of a 25 man group of dangermen all the way up the Cipressa.

Big Rings only need apply!:

At the top of the Cipressa Lance ATTACKS!!!!:
Lance takes a FLYER!!!!
Lance descends the Cipressa like a stone,
leaving all the dangermen behind!

photo-34-1.jpg

Lance hammers alone and in the lead all the way to
to the lower slopes of the Poggio.

The gap is coming down as the Poggio climb continues....

GO LANCE GO!

photo-33-1.jpg

Ooops, the forum software only allows 4 pictures to be posted.

Oh well, take care "The Hog". There is always the AlbertoFanClubForum.
Bang Bang.

Please give credit where credit is due. Lance, Brunyeel, Carmicheal kick ****.

One of the riders I ride with 62 years old is on Coach Carmicheals' training program. It is awesome. I also saw Lances' CC classics program in 93 awesome. Whos' equipe do the Lance haters support?

#Edited by mod -- no need to quote such a large post

How do I explain this to you . . . it's not 1993. It's 2010. You must have really worked yourself into quite a state, if you think 1993 is relevant to Saturday. Quite a state...

Last year he had the special edition bike, and personal photographer Liz Kreutz (Graham Watson took photos for Astana's website) on a race moto documenting his 125th place for posterity. Can he break a hundred this year?

Edit: This just hit on twitter

@cyclingweekly

Team RadioShack just announced that Fumiyuki Beppu is replacing Lance Armstrong in their Milan-San Remo line up.

Oh, how convenient. Perhaps he´ll be "sick" at Criterium also?

Ey, Cartstrong, you must face AC at Le Tour at least.

Ha ha! I bet you feel silly now! After baiting the Hogg, will you be doing the honourable thing and leaving this forum for good now?

He was busy twittering up a storm yesterday and the day before and now he's suddenly struck with an unexpected illness and cannot race Saturday? I'm absolutely shocked....

"acute gastroenteritis"? See what he's done there. A perfect excuse for miracle gut-weight loss.

So the story hit here at Cycling News now - severe gastroenteritis. I haven't followed his twitter since mid-Giro, but just checked and it said yesterday he was "home" with the kids, and planning to be on the ESPN radio show. Does home mean Nice, Austin, Colorado, California, Hawaii or??? It doesn't sound like he was anywhere near MSR.
