Hating?

Is it hating to question his treatment of Simenoi, Vassuer, Andreau, Bassons or were you cool with that?

Is it hating to question when he harasses an assistant until he has a seizure, or are you OK with that type of behavior?

When he invents a French Conspiracy to explain positive tests and dumped dope is it hating to question the validity of these obvious lies?

As you like to point out, post not the poster. If you feel that I have posted anything incorrect then please show us an alternative view.

You call it hating, most call it pointing out the obvious.

Posts day after day after day against armstrong, for whatever reason. Posts full of aggression to other posters who disagree or questions the extremities in those posts. Posts not poster - fair point. your posts border on obsession, the same few points month after month to try to as best I can tell force others agreement with an intense dislike of armstrong and many of those closely associated. I see post after post full of hate, pointing out an obvious viewpoint - everyone who doesn't hate or at least strongly dislike is stupid, deluded, whatever.

How many posts need to be made on the same points?

My thoughts on Lance-Part 1 the buildup

I'm new here so will start at the beginning of my love/disappointment affair with Lance. The recording of Milano-San Remo is playing as I write :).

I first became aware of Lance as a junior rider and recognized his potential to be a racer of note in the future. Carefully I followed his progress. I was able to attend 2 of his 3 CoreStates wins and was amazed by his progression. DuPont found me on the sidelines with bated breath, here was the future of USA cycling. His first european season showed he could be a great one day rider with short stage race potential. I was Hooked, America had a force in the peloton :).

When Lance was diagnosed with cancer I was devastated, by now he was a Hero. Then came the recovery and the transformation into a GT rider. His 4th in the Vuelta, while hanging with the leaders in the mountains brought smiles and great hope.

Part 2 shortly,

Carol

My thoughts on Lance - Part 2 the TdF years

Lance became a TdF force in the prologue of the 1999 TdF just after my father passed away. Lance helped me through that bad time with his day to day riding despite the fact that I soooo wanted to talk with my dad about it. My dad believed Lance would never win le Tour and I was so sorry that I wasn't able to share what was occuring in the race with him.

As everyone knows Lance won and became the patron of the peloton, dominating for the next 6 years. Okay, one year he looked vulnerable, I must admit that actually I hoped Ullrich would take him down for I'd found out just what kind of 'person' Lance was by then.

I was one of his Biggest fans and defenders when people said he was doping. Impossible I proclaimed, Lance is Clean, he would Never take drugs after having cancer.

Maybe Armstrong got sick after taking a look at The Hog's new clothing line
http://johanbruyneel.shop.sportstoday.com/

I wonder if he will hire any former strippers to model the womens clothes?

What a blatant unapologetic cash grab! It's nothing but t-shirts and hoodies with silk-screened (or worse-iron on) graphics. Real high quality meaningful merchandise for the cycling fan. I'll add it to my Xmas wish list.

As for my original point, I'm saying that my being a fan of AC or Kobe Bryant are not tied to their personal stories. If AC turned out to be a doper or Kobe was in fact a rapist, then that would be the end of my fan-ship. As I tried to point out (indirectly), it's not about their personal story of hope and perseverance. It's about their athletic ability.

I see your point, but if it were truly about athletic ability, you would be a fan of King James....:p

I've already ordered my "cobbles" t-shirt; just can't wait for my birthday or christmas :D

My Thoughts on Lance - The disappointment

Then testing was done on his 1999 samples. Okay it wasn't official etc. but 6 tests came back positive for EPO. My belief system was in tatters. He was a cheater. An arrogant, narcisstic, cheater with enough power and money to shutup anyone who dared to call him on his ways.

Like teflon all the rumours, accusations and witness testimony against him fell off and he remained and still is an American Hero. But he is No Hero to me anymore and I hope Alberto and anyone else rips the legs off him. But He is a Great Rider and I would be able to appreciate that if I hadn't been suckered in on his Hero role........

Did it take a lot of athletic ability to write the Bible?

King James didn't write the Bible, he commissioned a new translation. Besides I was referring to this King...

Atleast Bruyneel says Armstrong will be at the Criterium International..

"I think that Contador has the upper hand at the moment. We'll see how it goes. Lance does not have super form but he is now on track," he said.

- On track? Thats music to 1000's of men across the world. If you have a beer gut let it be known - your on track!

What a crock.

He'll finish but he'll be dropped on the first climb of the day. There is no hiding from this race. Call him a pussy if he drops out. I don't think even Lance could do it to himself.

I am, but he still lacks the killer instinct of one Kobe Bryant--but he's getting it. Before he's done he's going to be one of the best to play the game.

So he just used a blood bag. That's what I got out of his one day gastrointestinal issues. He doesn't want to be completely embarrassed next week and knows that if/when he's tested his levels are going to be out of whack (hence the gastrointestinal issues).

Now here's the thing. I want to see what journalist say about his performance. Remember he got shelled out the back on the category 1 climb at the Tour of Murcia and he's not really done any racing or real training since then. If he's able to stay with AC's group, that should raise some eyebrows and questions. I wonder if any enterprising journalist will ask the indirect questions necessary to get the answers.

No chance. This is where velonews and the like will write statement like: "Champions are champions because when they are pressure they perform and Lance Armstrong you are a champion".

If Phil Liggett was commentating he would add much the same to justify such a performance.

You could be right about the illness and the blood bag.

So I was going through this thread to catch up (almost 50p back), and I saw that link the Argus ride in S-A on March 14th 2010. I am unsure if it is his body type, the camera angles, or that he needs to start shedding some kilos:

Team mate in Radioshack kit for comparison. Mind you different body type, lanky and skinny

The top one is of Impey.

Thanks for posting. The second one the most telling. I'm starting to think he sent one of his fat mates along dressed as himself so he could still collect the pay packet….

What you posted was scary - Especially the roundness on the sides of his stomach. That’s not jersey hang.

Geez..that second pic is pretty disturbing. Why would he even be wearing anything under that jersey? I mean it's pretty freaking hot in South Africa..That's gotta be just pure FAT.

it's crazy how many posts are on this thread and how posters argue over the same thing over and over and over again. Some of you play right in to the LA fans hands by continually arguing with them.

The light bulb went on! Welcome to the dark side.

Can't hide the saddlebags! He is a fatty.

The size and definition on his arms look like he has been doing strength training. He has been known to do that before and then strip down to Tour weight but this looks like too much to shed between now and then.

His stomach doesn't look as though it has been exposed to the weight room.

On the contrary it has undergone a rigorous program of 12 oz. curls.

there are 13 days between the date that pic was taken and texas showing up at ci.

if that gut was there on 14 march, it will be there on 27 march. so much lard cant melt away in several days.

if it’s not there on the 27th, either everyone got a bit too excited or texas starved himself for two weeks.

either way, it cant be good for his performance.
