I can't think of a country more disliked than the US, as a nation rather than as a people.

Well I suppose you could compare Armstrong to the US. They are both loved and hated around the world - with the two sides of that coin taking it to the loony extremes.

It is offensive to me that people think the USA is more hated than other countries. I immigrated to this country many years ago to get away from opporession in my native country and I was drawn to the open society where I can say what I want and have porn. If the USA is most hated why are so many people trying to get here and live and work and be free? It's like having a life goal of urinating on a spark plug? That is stupid.

Sorry, but I read this post before I read any of wrench his posts, now I can't take him serious aat all anymore, no matter what he says, because I'm reading it with a really bad eastern european accent.

Anyhow. I myself never was really interested in Armstrong, was always a bigger Ullrich supporter. I don't know how this comes, probably because Ullrich seemd more human, more likeable, just an all-around great guy. Armstrong however to me always appeared to be a bit of a d1ck. Perhaps it didn't really help all the Americans that I met fawning over him like he was the greatest cyclist of all time, most even stating this exact thing. Probably this comes from the fact that they only become interested in cycling if an American is winning and to them the Tour is the only race that counts. My disliking of him had nothing to do with his financial schemes and especially not with his doping, although that and the covering up of that did help a lot for my disliking, the doping itself didn't really bother me (hell, one of my favourite roders for as long as I can remember was Pantani and god knows he doped)

This year, it doesn't look especially good for Armstrongs chances to show anything. I do hope this is his last year so that eurosport and some of the Dutch media will finally shut up about him and herald him as the second coming of Christ

I am sorry I have taken this thread off topic and I want to apologize to my new friends here. I apologize to my enemies to like bikecentric because I just want to get along. Over time I have learned skills that help me difuse aggresive people that attack and I revert back to defense mode when he attacked and for that I am truly sorry.

Anyway I think Lance may be in trouble to win this year because I think he has been sick too much with the squits. Last year the only reason he lost was because he broke his collarbone and he was good teamate to his young ingrate teamate Contadope but hopefully Contadope learned humility and sacrifice and teamwork from Lance.
