How many pages will how old/fat/good/lean LA looks go? People magazine gets tons of milage out of this subject with Brad, Johnny, Jen, and JoLo. :)

Personaly, I think the guy looks like a pretty fit pushing 40 kind of dude.

From that article, it sounds like he may do some selected bike races:

The rough idea is that in 2011 I do a little bit of both,” Armstrong told VeloNews late last year. “No triathlons in 2010. We’re going to try to win the Tour. To do that, you have to be totally focused on that. In 2011, you could still do Tour Down Under, California. I wouldn’t want to go back and do the classics or Paris-Nice. We could go do Cape Epic in South Africa.

Races that pay an appearance fee, perhaps? Anyway, ACF can still go see him in TDU next year. :D

EDIT: He's aged

And losing hair, which showed up when he got the cyclist's traditional July-in-France buzz cut. Bet we don't see him without a cap or helmet again:

Forget about the pictures. He'll look really old if he doesn't make it inside the top 10 in tomorrow's prologue.

I have a feeling that tomorrow will be an interesting day for Mr Armstrong.

Are you a fanboy lamenting that Europe and America loves cancer enough to destroy a hero?

Never fear! Like Lance, Australia still hates cancer and sees the truth!

Get to the Aussie embassy in your country and demand to emigrate now*!

*Australians drive on the left side of the road and hate cyclists enough to want to kill them because V8s prove you're a man and bicycles are for ****s and girls

well that quote was from an interview done late last year (November? December?), a lot has changed since then.

Austrailia is where Britain sent all of it's convicts. I thought the American Revolution severed the same rights for the Colonists.

If you're right - and you very well might be - will you crow and prance and so on?

If you're wrong - and you very well might be - will you say anything at all? Change the subject back to grey hair and crows feet around the eyes perhaps?

With it being the eve of the Tour and likely a load of new members would this be a good time to re: sticky this thread so we do not get lost in a mire?

I knew what you meant ;). And he is looking good this year. Bit more salt and pepper makes him look like he's going to take you over his knee and teach you what a pro can do.

Hahaha. You're back in the good books WL..

Dude, I know he is a doping fraud and have since the day he chased down Simeoni. Tomorrow changes nothing for me. I already believe that anyone who buys his lies is a blind moron. I actually couldn't think any less of them, so tomorrow will be their day to deal with whatever happens.

I post here year round, unlike people like you. I will come back around regardless. If I am wrong, I admit it. I don't have a problem saying the words "I was wrong."

What are you going to do?

Nothing, because I don't care much one way or another. I'm not making any predictions, one way or another about LAs or anyone else's performance . I enjoy the bike race and the racing. The personalities are secondary. LA may or may not be a doping fraud like just about everybody in the race may or may not be a doping fraud.
How I enjoy the sport doesn't revolve around how much I hate or fawn over Lance Armstrong because I do neither of those things. I feel pretty much the same about every other rider. They all have admirable and less than admirable traits, just like you and I and everyone else. I'm not a judge, I simply enjoy a good show and appreciate what it takes to compete at the level that pro riders, both on and off road. I have no illusion of how "clean" the show is or ever was.
If I want to engage in a pure and uncompromised competition, I'll have to have it with myself because I am the only person I control. I'm not going to get too worked up about what anyone else is doing. Either I accept that and watch and enjoy, or I don't an focus my attention elsewhere. I will not allow bitterness, hatred and anger to rule me.

My local rag had a double page spread on how amazing the man is and referred to the accusations as a "slur".

Then why do you bother to post on the topic at all?;)

Because I find the emotions the man stirs, particularly the pathological hatred of LA quite facinating. Much more so than the man himself.

Have a great 4th of July weekend! :)

Why just the emotions THIS man stirs? Why not other controversial people? Do you go around to forums on any given topic and make sideways uninsightful comments there about people who have a strong opinion about someone? Mirrors are funny things, people should use them more often.

As for my dislike of The Uniballer, it is based on the fact that I don't like bullies, and he is the biggest bully and liar in the sport I care most about. It turns out that this forum is about cycling, and that because of his place in cycling (nobody disputes how large his presence is), he is going to be discussed. Combine that with the fact that he is a media wh0re, and you will excuse me if I fail to see how anything written here about him is out of line.

What I do find interesting are the number of people like yourself who claim no affiliation or care regarding the subject who seem to show up almost exclusively on Armstrong threads. It is pretty funny actually because what is so obvious to me seems to elude you completely.

Yet you ignore the millions more who express their pathological love for wonderboy?

We get it, you have a mancrush. No need to pretend that you don't.
