This is what would have happened if he had not given up yesterday. When he saw that he was in trouble, he decided to pack it in, lose lots of time, and blame his crash. Chris Horner in his blog says that Armstrong gave up once they reached the peloton and he found out how fast they were going.

You should probably use babelfish to translate stuff you don't understand.

Seriously is this the definition of a troll? Willfully misleading posts?

Haven't you seen the 16 crashes and mechanical incidents!
And hordes of basques all jumping at his bike to crash him.

No one could win a race with what's happened to him.
Noone could have survived that at all period. But Lance used his miraculous cancer powers to overcome every obstacle they threw at him and will carry on inspiring us with his amazing performance against all odds.

the rider who told us in his blog that armstrong lost peloton’s respect (in part due to landisgate), also said in this interview that armstrong was in the foul mood since the start

And his mood was somehow, I would say, nepobednym. Several times passed by Lance along the stages, and he was always somewhat dissatisfied. That cobbles he did not like, then something else. Grumbled all the time

Armstrong has given up mentally. His team is making excuses. Oh, he bonked. He redlined during the chase to catch back on. He "crashed" three times. The peloton was hammering at five gillian watts. He does not handle heat well (despite growing up in Texas and then moving to Colorado. ) The fact that after crashing he complained to another rider that he was too old and he just wanted to go home and drink beer and ear pizza before he supposedly bonked indicates that he was mentally out of it.

Corrected google translator's fail:

It doesn't change the meaning, though.

But Popovych in his yesterday's interview (which you guess it -- was also in russian) said that Armstrong was actually content and calm and Landis or not he looked targeted for the win as never before.

And the name is Sergei Ivanov. Classics rider. Rode many teams including Astana a few years back.

And let's not forget, could be going to prison.

Google translate from russian to english is more intelligible than from spanish to english.

Go figure.

Lance sounds like a grumpy old man regretting that the charade has finally come to the part where he has to actually do something harder than cash appearance checks.

He should have stopped last year.

I think that auto translate programs are based on UN documents because a lot of identical documents exist in different languages. It would make sense that it translated better from and to languages that a lot of UN documents have been written in and translated from. I suspect that Russian is a bigger UN language than Spanish, being the language of a permanent SC member.

Actually that is easily understandable, considering the amount of the researches that were made by american Computer Science specialists in machine translation specifically targeted for russian language during the cold war.

Lavish funding from US Army drives the today's progress even thirty-forty years after.

Yay, i guess

I must admit to being a bit disappointed that LA is not in the race any more. No way did I want to see him win but it would have been good to see him dangle a minute or two off the lead for another week and get smashed trying to catch up in the mountains but fail and fall back another 20 or 30 seconds each time until he was 5 minutes or more back and totally destroyed.

He may yet show up for a stage win if he gives himself a few days to recover.

I can't see him even doing that (going for a stage win) because it would be so much of a consolation from what his ultimate goal was. It definitely wouldn't be seen as a triumph and as such I really couldn't imagine him raising his hands in victory as he crossed the line. It would be such a radical departure from what he's accustomed to. It would though finally give him that major win that is missing from his resume since his return.;)

...drivel...

So the epo-fueled excesses of the blue train in general and Armstrong in particular indicate that he's now a great opportunist on the hunt for stage wins?

Yeah right.

Another July-only poster for the ignore list.

You mean things like -
"i knew i wouldn't be competitive this year i'm just trying to put something back into a sport that has given me so much..."

...or the quote from a cover story interview in Men's Health magazine where he said that last year he did quite well to finish on the podium considering he looked at last year's experience as just a "hobby".

Lance looked calm and cool crossing the line today. Will he dig deep at some point and go for a stage win? Surprised he didn't try to remain with LL group.

If he wants to save himself for a stage win he can't be staying with the front groups.

Yes. He wheelsucked Basso for 40k. Even P&P said he got an armchair ride. But it was the correct tactic to use, since he didn't want to chase Bottle.

I thought RadioShack was one for all, all for one. LA should be working for Levi, not chasing stages.

Apparently, in current Radio Shack lingo, "working for" means "riding two or three wheels back, then getting dropped first".

Jani, Klodi, Bottle, and Lance all seem to have that down pat.
