Well I was wrong about Lance. I didn't think he'd go in a breakaway, or figure as one of the top three RSHers, but he proved me wrong. I still don't think he's done much of anything to help Levi, but at least he has played a part in the team classification for a few stages now.

To me, he didn't look strong in the break, and struggled on the climb, but it was good for him to put on some sort of effort for his fans, especially the ones who went over to France to see his final race.

"We"

Why does Lance always say "we" when he is really talking about "I"? Does that annoy anyone else? Is it indicative of his gigantic ego somehow? Any opinions?

It's a very common symptom of Narcissistic personality disorder

He's also been referring to himself in the third person.

[uncle Bryn] and now a big "Shout Out" to Shane Stokes who has provided this little gem of Lance Armstrong shouldering a spectator. [/uncle Bryn]

That was funny! The best part is after he shoulders the old man, he stops and turns around and gives him "The Look." :D

Also, LA's "get off me" to the press was not nearly so menacing as Cadel's threat to cut off some heads. After this year's Giro, I'm thinking Cadel can probably take LA in a slapfight. :p

Ha ha ha ha that was great! Lance is such a tough guy. I love how he rides into the old man from behind where the poor old guy can't even see him, then stops to glare at him for daring to be walking anywhere near his Lordship! And then pushes the reporter for no reason at all, the guy clearly didn't touch him and wasn't crowding too close at all. That reporter should file assualt charges just to return the favor of being a dic!.

I'm one who didn't think he'd make it this far, particularly off his customary preparation. I expected some dramatic media display to reinforce his version of his legacy and he has just ridden his bike. Considering the pressure on him that is impressive.

It was gratifying to see and hear the applause and "Allez" for Lance from the TRUE fans of the Tour as he began today's TT. In fact, throughout this year's Tour, he's gotten lots of support from the fans along the way who realize they're seeing a legend's swansong.
I didn't expect him to go out with a bang, but it wasn't really a whimper either. Given his bad luck on the cobbles and the crash on stage 8, he's done ok. Certainly better than other GC hopefuls younger than himself. Wiggins, Basso, etc.

Don't forget Evans. He beat him too.

Because calling it a whimper would be an insult to whimpers everywhere? What do I win?!!

Why not include the rest of my post? Or do tedious things like facts never enter into your opinion?
I'll second the Happy Birthday wish!

So is this thread being moved to the Cafe on Monday?

Mods, as from Monday LA will have no relevance to pro cycling, presumably any thread about him in the pro cycling section will also then be deleted?

Because, presumedly, everyone has already read your post and I didn't want to take up valuable space on this forum by writing it again? Is this a trick question?

Ban luck cost Armstrong the tour.

Alberto was week this year without Johans tactical genius. He was there to be beaten. Lance was the man to do that. Phil ligget told me and he is the voice of cycling.

Bye armstrong *uckers. Life will be better without you. You now go defend him at court. He will have his so much mentioned "7 time tour winner" title removed pretty soon.

Yes, hold you breath on that one, Iker. Like you have been the past 12 years...keep that blind hatred going.
So who's next to be smeared without a shred of evidence?
