Imagine dropping everyone on a flat downhill on acceleration alone then telling the first teammate you see you didn't even feel good
Giro should be 2, 2016 and 2019.Impressive streak. For the 7th time he enters a GT and for the 7th time he takes at least one win. The count is Giro: 3, Tour:3, Vuelta: 2 (for now).
Won 2 Giro stages in 2019 though.Giro should be 2, 2016 and 2019.
Oops, you are right. I took it as he took stage wins at 3 Giro's.Won 2 Giro stages in 2019 though.
Valverde has done that for 15 years, it's still a long way for him..He's the most consistent rider I've seen in a long time.
Last time he wasn't among the very best in a stage race was Tirreno Adriatico 2018, 2 and a half years ago.
It's crazy.
Yes, that Tirreno was really bad. First they lost huge chunk of time in the TTT, then he lost some more on a flat stage due to a crash, won the murito finish, only to crash (!) on the uphil on the MTF. From there on in he only finished off the GC podium of a stage race once and that was 4th at the Tour that year (I didn't count the Dauphine this year, because he did not finish it - though he would almost certaintly win it without that crash).IIRC he had a mechanical on the MTF there, and after he already lost time in the flat stage because of a crash, he took it easy. And he still won a stage there.
I think he's enjoying this more than the TDF. He's already got a stage win, so some of the pressure is already off.Too focused at the Tour. Now he seems more relaxed. I'd like him to win (again).
Needs to enrol in that courseOkay jacket problems and had to drop his team to get back on. He didn't seem to concerned in the interview.
Where did you read/hear that? For local Slovenian media Roglič said he had 5 min max watts on stage during chase to peloton. So instead peak 5 min effort on the last climb, he "burned" it when chasing before last climb. Also said they didn't risk it all on the descent hence needed to put more effort on false flate part. Saying he is relax, feeling no pressure, happy to be racing and that people have some entertainment during these difficult times.
So I don't think he is fading already, but next stages will tell how it is in reality.
Considering how he won last year's Vuelta he may be able to do it on his own.Well you could clearly see his teammates being unable to close the gap before he Roglstomping his teammates and closing the gap on his own.
