Froome just sitting 2nd wheel wasting energy and then swung out only to close a gap for 10 seconds... lots of wasted energy.

Cancellara still hanging in there. Impressive.
How tough was the Beijing course compared to this?
I think even more altitude difference but the difference is that the climb in Bejing was way easier.

Lots of classics specialists still hanging around near the front. Got to think their endurance and handling is going to give them a chance on such a tough and technical course.

Froome pulls off when it is his turn to pull.

What a scumbag. Tour de France winners always pull on the flat 60km out.

And with a team mate up the road. If he's not working now when will he? Basically Simon Gerrans

Besides also having Thomas up the road....

Obviously a most ridiculous post.

Are you saying this because you've been saying this for the last two months, and want to keep hammering your message in? :D

Not entirely :) Makes it a much more interesting dynamic though. The climbers will have to drop them somewhere and hold them off on the flat, and they're running out of time to do so. If they can even catch this strong break with GVA, Thomas and Taaramae.

Fabian getting up this climb would make things interesting.

It's pretty much impossible for him to stay with the best climbers, ofcourse it depends on how fast they will ride the 2nd climb.

Pretty impressive how Kwiat and Kotchetkov have kept a 5-10 second gap for about 20km now, after being out there all day!

True, but I feel when Bala etc. light it up on the climb Cancellara will be distanced by some margin. I think this break will be caught. Italy might begin to chase as they have arguably the least strong rider there, with the least chance of winning.
