It’s not very obvious what criteria they are sorted after, my first guess was not consistently applied.

But great to see the list being updated!

The results are listed left to right as Giro, Tour, Vuelta with the results from the Tour given the heaviest weighting the Giro and finally Vuelta eg 2, 1, 1 is worth more than 1, 2, 1 as a Tour win is valued more than a Giro win.

That I'm very well aware of. It's more why López is above several riders with a 2nd place as best result, which runs contrary to what seems to be the criteria by which the rest is sorted.

Idk, him being in the same category as Indurain or Fignon might look weird but it's not like he completely stands out of that group. Sure, Menchov ended up winning two gt's but was he actually clearly a better rider? Purito really should have won both Giro and Vuelta in 2012 and he was climbing almost as good as Quintana in the third week of the 2013 Tour. He was pretty great at that time. Hell, I'd argue that in terms of riding for gc Purito's peak was higher than Valverde's.
Yep Purito 2012 in terms of climbing beats any version of Valverde, except maybe 2017, but we never saw that Valverde in a GT.
But Purito was heavily handicapped because of his poor TT-ing, Valverde was better rounded, more complete rider, that's why he had more success. But in terms of climbing alone, I think peak Purito beats peak Valverde by a slim margin.

I don't really know who decided the criteria of the list I'm updating but I'm pretty sure I was the one putting Lopez somewhere randomly.

Edit, I've updated it again trying to follow these criteria:
  • ranked by best result
  • ranked by second best result in case of same best result
  • ranked by third best result...

Updated with Kruijswijk, Roglic and a more natural order.
Here we have the culprit with his more 'natural' order.

1st, 7th, 10th - Moser
10th, 8th, 2nd - Muñóz Machín
2nd, 10th, 9th - Caruso, D.

I'm in two minds with regard to the Spanish names. I'll probably later change it so they have the same format as Superman, as that fits with Caruso & Yates.

PS: SafeBet, you still need to move Roglič up.

Hey, I'm hardly responsible for López' misplacement in the list given that he joined the club a year after I updated it with the fantastic new order. For which I got an endless amount of praise:

No worries.
I too believe the format needed some changes but didn't wanna mess up the original list.

The new version is much cleaner.

And due to all that praise I will not point any fingers at the one who put López into the list :D

It doesn't really fit the title of the thread or the discussion so far, but on the back of Dan Martin now having not only a stage win in all three GTs, but also a top ten in each, I wondered who would be in his category here: top ten in all three, but no podium (by the definition here: I would prefer to go by results, not ceremonies for Mollema and van den Broeck).

Going back to 1970, I am surprised at how few there seem to be (though I may have missed some)
5,5,4 Thurau
5,6,3 Mollema
7,3,8 Van den Broeck
5,7,6 Totschnig
5, 8,8 Fuchs
10,6,4 Martin
6,7,9 Konig
8,9,8 Serrano

Did I miss anyone?
