One of the few teams that are a sop to the old days when the Champions' League lived up to its name, i.e. you had to be your country's champions to compete.

Now it's just a big money spinner with a few sops to the Scandinavian and Eastern European teams to let them get a couple of games against the big guns before inevitably kicking them all out except maybe Shakhtar, so that the big EPL, La Liga and Serie A bully boys can lock out the quarter finals.

But nowadays, those little teams don't have any chance.

This more and more commercial CL pre-pre-pre-matches and rounds, need to be forbidden.
This year I even had to look for 2-3 teams/names, because I had no clue from which country they could possibly be...

Ajax should have won with the counter attacks. At the end Lyon created some chances but they didn't deserve to win.

Well I look it on another way, we scored 2 goals against mighty Real.
So theoretically we are just great as Barcelona, and for sure better then Ajax or Lyon

Policeman was Muslim declare himself as Yugo, few years ago he told that other policeman was persuade him to shoot Boban but he did not.

The current format keeps those teams happy cos they get at least 6 games, but makes sure that even if they spring a surprise like CFR Cluj beating Roma a couple of years back, they'll be back in their place, i.e. staying in those apparently unimportant countries while the important teams from England, Spain and Italy cramp the knockout phase.

Utter garbage, and will only continue to weaken those leagues and render them inconsequential.

Bring back the Cup Winners' Cup, and Champions only in Champions League.

if Ajax can minimize the loss, and lyon fail to destroy Dinamo.. who knows.

watched bayer v chelsea, pretty good game, leverkusen were not bad, chelsea are not the chelsea of the mourinho early years.. Ballack was good shame he didnt score, he deserved it today.... Ballack deserves a special mention for his ability to constantly argue with the referee for anything especially things that dont involve him, he is just world class in this field
