Valencia were robbed there. That was a handball by the Real Madrid player inside the box and it should have been a penalty to Valencia and to draw the game 3-3.

Wow, nice win this is (understatement :D).

In my opinion Vitesse is overrated (before the match I thought that), but I didn't expect this; 0-4, wow. Now we got some tough matches but with this performance Feyenoord can beat every team in the Eredivisie.

88 minutes gone, Mohun Bagan leading 1-0 thanks to an Okolie Odafa penalty and the lights go off. The match has been halted and may, if not restarted fast enough, be abandoned. This is drama.:D

Edit:
Lights on again! :D
3,4,5,8 minutes to go, who knows.

Final score 1-0 Mohun Bagan win.

Chelsea - Liverpool 0-1 HT.

Deserved I think. Chelsea wasted the ball too many times in their defense and Liverpool could have scored a few times because of that. Chelsea have to change a lot if they want to win this.

Sundays match between Sevilla vs Athletic bilbao could be interesting..i will go for a Sevilla win, wont be suprised if its a draw. Libertine, what do you reckon?

The draw was looking likely, but Sevilla did seem rather keen to let Óscar de Marcos score there, with giving away the ball, an ineffective tackle, and I'm not sure what the goalkeeper was doing as it seemed to involve diving around the ball but making sure de Marcos still had it, so Athletic have the lead now.

Excellent win for Athletic, away from home at Sevilla.

The match is also notable for the début of 18-year-old right back Jonás Ramalho, who becomes the first black player to represent Athletic Bilbao (the first team at least - he's been with Bilbao Athletic for a while).

Been waiting for his debut for some time now. What was he, 14 or 15 when he first became major news worldwide?

Think it was when he was 16, when due to an injury crisis he was called up from the feeder team as emergency cover for a couple of games, notably a Euro game. In the end there was no need to deploy him, and when Iraola returned to full fitness, Ramalho dropped back to the feeder team, where he's been until the last few weeks, probably with the same issue (after a few weeks ago when Iraola was taken off at half time and replaced with Gurpegui, who promptly had to go off after a severe injury only five minutes later, leading them to finish the game with Óscar de Marcos at right back). This time around he's a bit older, a bit stronger, and the club feel safer putting him on.

I hope he does well. There's also another black player in the cantera at Lezama, Binke Diabate. He's born in the Basque country of Malian parents. He's about 15 or 16 I think, so we may see him come through in a couple of years too.

dear god, rather dead then being an oporto fan. . . .

i am tremendous benfica fan but i have been greatly disappointed with benfica's transfer policy for the past few seasons. i mean there are only so much foreigns you can hire and portuguese superb talents you can waste. . . .

according to benfica's president tho that is supposed to change over the next couple of years, i will believe it when i see it.

btw timmy is there any valid reason for you to hate ronaldo and nani? i mean nani isn't even that famous and at least ronaldo isn't a complete hypocrite like saint messi or as i like to call him "the messiahs", you can smell the falseness on messi's i am such a good humble person attitude from continents apart.

I just greatly dislike his attitude on a pitch, his whinning and attitude towards his peers and his self-rightious sense of belonging. Not a fan, never have been, never will be. I remember cringing so many times watching him play. Nani is not as bad but has similar moments of face palmness. :p

watched the bayern dortmund match. Rough match, not great.

I read about him the first time he played alongside the seniors in a friendly match and his age was 14 at the time.

Globalised world affecting Athletic as well, albeit for the first time in a positive manner for their demographics.

Personally, I thought that after Petronor's sponsorship Athletic would soon lose it's Basque only policy and follow Sociedad's footsteps. Though Petronor is Basque, it was one of Athletic's most ardent policies not to have a sponsor on their shirts. Thankfully, signs of that happening haven't surfaced as yet as that would be a travesty for Spanish football specifically and football in general.

It's pretty impressive with their Basque-only policy that Bilbao have never been relegated form La Liga.

Zagreb.. what are they doing in this league  Even Ajax outplayed them.

One of the few teams that are a sop to the old days when the Champions' League lived up to its name, i.e. you had to be your country's champions to compete.

Now it's just a big money spinner with a few sops to the Scandinavian and Eastern European teams to let them get a couple of games against the big guns before inevitably kicking them all out except maybe Shakhtar, so that the big EPL, La Liga and Serie A bully boys can lock out the quarter finals.

5:0:D

We won 1967 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup against Leeds:D (Uefa Cup or League now)

Like Ajax we live on players sold, many of them are noy playing in top clubs; Olić -Bayern, Modrić, Kranjčar-Hotspur, Eduardo who is leg been broken by that English butcher while in Arsenal etc.
As Ajax we would probably be CL winners if we have money.
Platini is making smaller teams to play in CL.

P.S. We usually play much better then this, just wait last 15 minutes:eek:
