Not too disappointed with the result. Liverpool deserved a draw.

Badly need players back from injury. I can't see this team getting over the line with the players currently available.

Can someone tell me where Flamini got his reputation as a player?

I don't know too much about Elneny but hopefully he's a big improvement on Flamini. That position is a big problem at the moment. I think Wenger knows it as well. He normally doesn't like buying in January. This transfer is more or less him acknowledging this weakness.

The Reds will be fine once everyone is healthy enough to be productive. Plus Klopp's philosophy hasn't sunk in with the players yet. Once these things start falling into place, they'll be challenging for the league. There is no clear cut club that stands above the rest right now. Plenty of things can happen down the road. YNWA.

I must say the money Bournemouth paid for Afobe and Grabban is crazy.

QPR syndrom ?

Nowhere near that bad, QPR spent a fortune on fees and player wages (Wage bill in the top 10 of the prem) and ended up going down with a whimper. The fee's paid for Afobe and Grabban are massive though, but on the whole their wage bill is surely one of the lowest in the league, if not the lowest.

It's not helped that their main striker Callum Wilson has been ruled out for the season either, I think he scored something like 5 goals in 4 games before his bad injury and looked a very nice prospect.

Interesting to see how Guidolin does at Swansea.

BTW a big cycling fan too. Has done commentary on the Giro in the past.

The details of Martial's contract have been leaked. Staggering money involved.

https://footballleaks2015.wordpress.com/2016/01/16/as-monaco-manchester-united-anthony-martial/

but a brilliant bit of scouting.
he really is that good (imo)

He's a very good player. I'm big fan of him. That's an 80m euro contract. Even with fulfilling his potential in the future, I wouldn't put anywhere near an €80m player. It's a crazy amount.

That football leaks group is worth keeping an eye on. They have exposed third party ownership in Portugal and have done so too with FC Twente as well. They keep changing domains and hosting providers for security purposes. Portuguese police are even looking into them.

I think they are doing the game a world of good. Nearly every deal nowadays is all this undisclosed fee stuff. Even contracts signed are just announced as "long-term contracts". Montreal today just the latest one.

A Malaga ball boy threw his arms around Messi's neck at the end of the game, kissed him, and asked for his shirt. Messi took it off on the spot and gave it to him. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves how lucky we are to be alive now so that we can watch this genius play. As a life long Cruijff lover, I have had to admit that Messi is without any doubt the GOAT.

Unbelievable result for the Scousers today, and another shock for Don Louis. MotD is a must tonight.

And, COYI!

I recorded the Barca game. Must have a look later. I watched the United game. Austin is a snip at £4m. Wanyama bossed the midfield. Top 4 is in serious doubt for United. I wonder could it force United to act over Van Gaal.

I didn't see it but I heard Dele Alli got a superb goal for Spurs. Have to say that guy is a top talent. Some big clubs must be kicking themselves at missing out on him. I thought he was a good player at MK Dons, but never this good.

A fit Dmitri Payet, like the last few games, is without any doubt the revelation of the season, and must be in the running for player of the year. The boy oozes quality in everything that he does. He had moves in the first half that take your breath away - especially to see such quality in the claret and blue! He is the new Di Canio as far as fan worship goes, and he totally deserves it.

Agree. He was the best player on the pitch again today.

Either side could have won it in the end. Good game overall.

As a Liverpool fan, I am obviously happy about today's result, but while the game was back and forth exciting, some of the goals and the defense were rather forgettable. But as the old saying goes, 3 points are 3 points, a win is a win.

Elsewhere, Leicester continue their magnificent season.

Always fun watching Man U lose

Was pulling for West Ham, they've also had a good season so far, but just couldn't quite get past City.

The race for the league will come down to the last week or two. Shades of 2012, when Aguero's heroics helped City edge United. Anyone else feel the same?

After Martial's contract, Football Leaks now have the details of Bale's move to Madrid. Real always said Rinaldo costed more. That was to keep Rinaldo on side. This says otherwise.

Football Leaks are now apparently under police investigation for blackmail.
Wouldn't surprise me if they were being set up here.
Too much at stake.
Though the blackmail story wouldnt surprise me either.

Sports stars know that little gestures like that are good business. Personally I'd rather messi just paid his taxes.

Is this really anything extraordinary? Most people would do this. If it was an honest gesture, it proves he's not a douche, but doesn't make him an incomparably good guy.

Read that report yesterday. Yet it still hasn't stopped them. Details of Ozil's move to Arsenal is up on the site today. Madrid have first option to buy back.

I would be extremely surprised if Infantino isn't next FIFA president now. He has the bloc vote in CONMEBOL and today the FAI in Ireland along with the French FA confirmed they were supporting him. That not surprisingly would suggest he has the bulk of the UEFA countries backing him.
