Nadal got into the top 10 of the world ranking for the first time 17 years ago this week. Since then, he has never, not for one week, been out of it.

Didn't finish top 10 in the ATP race last year. COVID rankings *** all the ranking records up.

Okay, yeah, then he sucks.

But I honestly didn't know that he wasn't top 10 last year.
He played like 7 tournaments, so it wasn't that strange.

IIRC Federer finished 2020 in the top 6 or something while only playing 1 tournament.

Federer has not played since Wimbledon 2021 and is still ranked 41 - It's a worry that the Italian Open is under pressure to ban the Russians and Belarussians - If this spreads to other sports ...

The Great One was in a first line box. He wisely chose tennis over a sh*tty slow boring Giro stage but we've been all shortchanged with a lightning fast game just over 1h.
Damn I missed that. I was too busy laughing at Zverev double faults..

Not gonna lie I bet he was at the Real Madrid-City game as well

Lol, 26-year old grand slam debutante, 2nd year full timer, ranked 227th, schooled Pliskova. I don't know if women's tennis is that weird these days or something wild is happenning and I don't know the whole story. How can you be a 26-year old sophomore and a big stage winner at once? I know it's early round but still...

Quarterfinal for Holger Rune! Insane stuff!

And he will meet Casper Ruud. So the first Norwegian quarterfinalist in forever will meet the first Danish quarterfinalist in forever for a spot in the semifinal. Wow.

On The Tennis Podcast they said that she had been a teen prodigy but then had a lof of problems with her knees. Then she got a ton of grad titles and has noe picked up the racket again.

Casper Ruud, ranked number 8, almost 24 years old and this is only his first ever GS quarterfinal. He’s been feasting on 250 series clay tournaments the last 2-3 seasons.

Okay, that makes sense. I just still can't think of anything similar, at least not in tennis.

Ruud has slowly but surely become a solid HC player. Don't read too much Kyrgios propaganda.

I do hope Ruud makes the final from the bottom half, but the 2 biggest matches are definitely gonna be the QF and SF on the top half.

Yeah, it's a really annoying draw.

Wow, Zverev beat Alcaraz. All the hype had me believing that match was a foregone conclusion. But I guess Zverev played really well.

Alcaraz' lows are still pretty low and at worst he can be a total error machine. First 2 sets weren't pretty. 4th set was quality tennis though.

Djokovic didn’t serve as well as he did last year when they met in the semis, and his overheads needed to be better. The crowds just don’t like him. To each their own, I guess.
