Maybe I am reading too much into it but all three seem to be very strong in hilly/mountain terrain. Maybe that’s the future direction…which makes sense if you want to develop a TdF winner.

I can't evaluate the U23 riders mentioned. But in general it makes sense that the team is looking for talented riders for the mountains. After all, the goal is to have a rider in 5 years who has ridden for the U23-team and can win the TDF. The team needs riders who can be trusted to do this, and they are the hardest to get on the market. There are other talented riders in the U19-team, for example, but certainly no potential Tour winner. I could imagine that 1-2 riders from the U19 will join them, then a few more riders to frame it. But presumably the 3 should already be the central basis, which is why they are named as the first riders.

Finn is really good. Started cycling at the age of 14 and is a really good climber and solid TTer, junior NC this year while being 59kg light and 180cm tall.
Last year he was 2nd on the gc in Lunigana as a first year junior rider and won nearly all the Italian one day races for junior that finish with a MTF. The one to Montecampione is impressive, his team was taking a break, so he started alone, with no teammates in a big climber's race and won 2min ahead of everyone else.
He's also turning 18 only in late December, so he was 16 years old when he got those impressive results last year.

People in Italy rate him as the next gc prospect, a Tiberi style gc rider (at least).

Tbh I'm really sceptical about the 180cm 59kg style body type.

I am 2kg off and I feel attacked now.

That weight was from before he turned 17, so he might put one some muscle mass and increase his absolute wattage, while keeping his power to weight ration.

Thank you for your informations. Sounds interesting - but I think it is a good decision to start in the U23 with the possibility for some starts with the WT-Team. But 59kg, 180cm.... It's already very light for its size. In the long term, I'm rather worried that this can be very unhealthy and is close to the limit that can lead to problems - even maintaining such a weight for years at this size.

Like I said, those numbers are from before he turned 17, so he can probably still grow into his frame a bit.

I´m a little bit confused about the vuelta team. Roglic and Vlasov are in an altitude camp, so i think they will start.
Lipowitz, Aleotti and Adria will also start (regarding to some press articles). Makes five riders, Martinez is also heavily linked to start at the vuelta. But who else? Who will support the team on the flat? Gamper rode some spanish races, so he seems to be a domestique, but then there is still one spot left?

At the Tour they have send their A team for the flats and it didn't really make a dent. So likely whoever is in form and motivated will get selected. On where if injuries won't prevent it then having Roglič, Vlasov and Martínez ... Attacking on the hills. If all in good form that should be rather intimidating trio for the competition. We'll see.

If BOC collapses before end of week 2 and PR wins, all will be forgotten by the end of the Vuelta.

Boichis currently at Trinity, and was thought to be on Specialized Factory Racing's radar.......He stepped up to the Elites this year while still an U23.

He did some early season MTB races, and the first two World Cups in Brazil to try and qualify for the Olympic MTB race - since then not a lot.

Yep. Denz coming back from the break to drill the entrance of the climb and Martinez waiting for Rogla's group shortly after the top was great. The team did all they could to make this climb count as much as possible.

Lipo is a diesel climber, he was amazing in Granada. He was actually pulling on 1st Hazallanas and the 5 km before the climb proper start for the last time and still managed to go with the group. He will be the best man starting from Friday again
