Roglic, Hindley, Vlasov, Sobrero, Jungels, Denz and Haller/Van Poppel (the first should be fresher and is climbing good recently).

The last spot should be between DFM (apparently has other plans), Buchmann ( I don´t trust his comitment with all this), Lipowitz (doesn´t sound likely with his health issues after the Giro) and maybe Adrià, he is more a puncheur than a climber but can be useful in the first two stages and mixed terrain and he was quite good in recent races.

So I would take DFM or Lipowitz in normal conditions without a doubt, but taking in to consideration everything, maybe I would give Roger the chance if I were Bora management.

Anyone a plan?

Listening to the interview, the host is completely clueless and has no knowledge of the sport so that reference doesn't have any meaning. From the vibe of the interview he may well have tried to reference Uijtdebroeks not knowing that he isn't even at Bora anymore.

Interview has a few interesting bits, the most important thing is that I'm pretty sure Red Bull is planning long term planning to be a investor in the sport and most likely as a single sponsor team with full control (probably moving Denk aside at some point as well). I know Denk says they want to keep Bora-Hansgrohe on board but I'm pretty sure that's only for the time being to smoothen the transition period.

Palzer, Higuita and Zwiehoff didn’t show good form recently.

I think Aleotti is cooked from the Giro…he was basically a no show the last few mountain stages.

Not sure about Martinez and whether he is fresh enough. He went „all in“ compared to Pogacar.

Lipowitz out because he was sick.

Kämna…well…get well soon Lenny.

So this leaves me with Adria or Buchmann. Adria showed some nice form earlier this year but has never finished a GT.
Buchmann is in the middle of this soap opera but his form should be fine and he has experience.

So, whom do we pick?

Lipowitz should be an option. Of course the sickness stop his good run but he could be probably good enough again in a few weeks.

Adria is also a good shout, but much better suited to the Vuelta and could play a great role there.

I would get three rouleurs in there. It's the biggest weakness of Roglic and also there is the gravel stage. van poppel and denz are als climbing insanely well at times for riders there size. Van Poppel was in some Giro stages the second last rider at the side of Martinez with maybe 50-60 left in the peleton. Denz can at times hang around for very long similar to politt.

But in the end that is not important. What can Buchmann do for you even in the mountains. Probably nothing. Vlasov and Hindley is alle the support Roglic need to bring him to the point where it is the last 4-5 guys on there own. Then he is either good enough to hold Pogis wheel or not. Crashing in a sprint finish or the gravel stage is the biggest concern. Thats where guys like van Poppel, Denz, haller and Jungels can he huge.

Lippowitz will restart at german nationals and won't do the Tour. He will do Sibiu and Czech Tour next.

Likely it makes sense to take more experienced riders to Tour 2024, Lippowitz hence better for Vuetla if he feels like it. Martínez, if motivated and in form, that would be a good option.

FWIW, the Dauphine lineup looks pretty much like the TdF lineup and Adria is part of it. Maybe he proves himself there

Podium is only possible if everything goes right for him and it is a soft startlist. But I agree in the team hierarchy Roglic is the first Option, Hindley the second and Vlasov/Martinez together share the third spot.

Vlasov, to me, is settling into being a dangergous weeklong stage race threat rather than a solid GT podium candidate. Not sure what the holdup is because I often look at him and think he should be a Tour contender. Anyway, good to keep him in the fold. Maybe he targets the Dauphine or Itzulia next year. Or the Ardennes? He might be a great one-day racer.

I rate Martinez higher as a potential gc rider, Vlasov might get a Vuelta podium if everything goes right, but that's about it...

The junior team of BORA-hansgrohe has signed two new riders following the Red Bull Junior Brothers Programme. The German Karl Herzog (15 years) and the Let Georgs Tjumins (15 years old) have both a contract with GRENKE-Auto Eder, the U19 team affiliated with BORA-hansgrohe.

Karl is the brother of WorldTour professional Emil Herzog and has a background in cross-country skiing. “I’m very curious to start this trip with the team and with Red Bull. Cycling is my passion, that I win this program motivates me even more to work harder to achieve success at the highest level,” said 15-year-old Herzog.

Rog and Vlasov looked to be in ok shape considering their goal is to be in peak form in the Tour. But Hindley lacked behind. He seems further back that I would expect at this stage. As a grand tour winner you would expect him to be the last man and a possible co-leader in the tour for Bora, but it doesn't look like it.

Pollit is over the hill. Soler too. Juan is having a bad season. Wellens is riding his own tdf. He should take the mexican - he is like a bottle of tequila on a bike.
