I don’t think he has to win solo, there are enough riders he can beat in a sprint after a hard race. But not PogiHe has to win solo to win, like in Australia, but he'll have to drop Pogi, who this time won't be caught out mid-field. If he does, it will be a massive exploit, but it's a big if.
Exactly, but when the selection is made I can't see Pogi missing out this time, hence me thinks he has to win solo.I don’t think he has to win solo, there are enough riders he can beat in a sprint after a hard race. But not Pogi
Yeah Pogacar needs to be alert, but that’s not an issue for him, I believe. In the Tour or WC ‘23 he was also very alert. Don’t think we’ll see him away from the front in the last 150km’sExactly, but if a selection is made I can't see Pogi missing out this time, hence me thinks he has to win solo.
Given the precedent set last year, I really think he only has a small chance to win the velo d'or.Mohorič out of World's RR? Probability of Double-Double increases!
Genuinely believe it will happen. And if he wins Lombardia...shoe-in for the Vélo d'Or!![]()
Guys, I've never been this excited for a WC ever. I'm even considering watching the live coverage in its entirety, solely b/c of Remco. Someone pointed out to me tonight that if RE manages to do the Double-Double, he'll also technically complete a never-before-contemplated multi-season Triple-Double: 2xOG gold, 2xWC ITT gold, 2xWC RR gold. It's overwhelming.I think it's gonna come down to who's got the best legs during the closing laps. If/when Pogacar attacks, Remco must get on terms. He cannot play it prudently as he wisely did on the big cols of the Tour. He's got to risk blowing up to stay on the wheel and then, if he can, counter-attack. The climb is short enough that he can risk all for glory. Nothing but gold matters to him anyway. The distance and attrition, if he's on a fine day, should allow him to unleash his power in all of its brute force. The question remains, however, as to will it be enough if Pog is also in beast mode on the day?
Please no. he needs to go to the sole grand tour - Flanders.giro tour double possible next year

Lefevere hints at Giro-Tour double for Remco Evenepoel in 2025 - "Pogacar has shown that it is possible to win both in a row"
Tadej Pogacar did and completed both Giro d'Italia and Tour de France this year with his very best legs and with no doubt this will motivate others to do the same. Achieving perfect preparation for bo...cyclinguptodate.com
@Peyroteo94 is correct...if you talk about a different topic, you must at least finish it off with a "Go Remco Go!" at least. But I think there are more deaths nowadays only because there are so many more who cycle.Yes, it was worse in the past. Media wasn't so intense back in the 90/80's. But one question, why are you asking here when we have a specific thread to this topic?
The Lombardia's that Pogacar keeps winning and Evenepoel keeps Grupettoing are also very conveniently under 250km.Sample is very short for Remco. If he doesn't win WC, Lombardia and 2025 MSR, his % will drop to 40% for example.
Second, Remco doesn't race classics that don't suit him. He never raced MSR or Tour de Flandres. MSR is ruining Pogacar's win rate.
Feel free to include them, lol. "Conveniently"... As if it's some conspiracy between some guys on the forum and the people at RCS.The Lombardia's that Pogacar keeps winning and Evenepoel keeps Grupettoing are also very conveniently under 250km.
Classica de San Remco and LBL.Some interesting win rates:
Races > 220 km: Pogacar 28% (9/32) - Mvdp 25% (9/36) - Evenepoel 38% (8/21)
Races > 250 km: Pogacar 24% (5/21) - Mvdp 27% (7/26) - Evenepoel 57% (4/7)
For who considers past statistics relevant ...
It's not deliberate or anything, it's just a bit of lucky statistics.Feel free to include them, lol. "Conveniently"... As if it's some conspiracy between some guys on the forum and the people at RCS.
Also great insights as to why Evenepoel keeps grupettoing Lombardia. His 2020 crash+comeback had nothing to do with it in 2021 i'm sure. Him crashing last year also had nothing to do with that. The equivalent of stating Evenepoel beat Pogacar in Liège last year.
Sure, just like it's too bad San Sebastian, which Evenepoel won twice with Pogacar at the start, is not 250km. Last year the Lombardia that Pog won, was only 8km longer than the San Sebastian Evenepoel won. It's not deliberate or anything, it's just a bit of lucky statistics.
This would, if even remotely an appropriate weight addition allow them to use other parts to approach the UCI minimum weight. It's nice to have options and Specialized knows that a cash cow losing a race to interweb speculation might be a bad marketing move. Nice post.![]()
The surprising truth about how much Remco Evenepoel's World Championship gold paint weighs
The deep gold Specialized bikes used by the Belgian this week look like heavy metal – but what does that paint really weigh?www.cyclingweekly.com
Not without bad luck for the alien. What are the chances for Remco today? Can he beat the alien?
Remco is also a hors categorie rider, so you can't put it past him. I look forward to an epic battle. What are the chances for Remco today? Can he beat the alien?
He definitely might. There’s no reason to think Pogacar is better than Evenepoel in such long racesWhat are the chances for Remco today? Can he beat the alien?
